What I get from all of this is that Amy isn’t either the villain or the saint, she’s a strong headed woman who stood up for herself but also made mistakes. She’s not to be idolized like a perfect role model nor villainized like a b****, she’s just a human after all like all of us.

What I got from this is that she's unapologetic about her choices. She's passionate about Evanescence. She has stated before that the band is her baby, so naturally, she's going to make choices that she feels are best. Being opinionated, passionate, and unapologetic has, it seems, made her seem cold-hearted, but she's not. She's just not going to feel sorry for doing what she feels is the best direction for her baby. The situation with Ben Moody is, sadly a friendship that became toxic due to difference in opinion and neither party wanting to give in. That's what happens in the industry, you find some friends end up not being good for you in all the spotlight and battle for control.

Its so funny because how many artists write songs about their exs? Where do people think a ton of inspiration comes from?

Literally Simone was just like "I don't like that my band gets compared to them, I don't think we sound alike and I don't really care for their music" and then they met and got along. Imagine considering that a feud or equating that with Simone saying she "can't stand" Amy Lee.

There was never any beef between Epica and Evanescence whatsoever, it was just a comment made by Simone years ago, and she ultimately has a point, Evanescence being compared to symphonic metal is simply ridiculous, the only thing in common are the female vocals, which ultimately leads to the "female front" cliché comparison. Also, they played and met for the first time together in Bulgaria, not in Greece.

I met Amy in 2004 in USA, 2009 in Paris and now in 2022 in Stockholm and I can definitely say she is the best artist down to earth, kind and beautiful that I ever met. I worked 10 years with Wacken Open Air and met lots of artists but never anyone like her. I will love her forever ❤

I've been listening to Evanescence since I was 12. If they had replaced her (as Moody apparently wanted to do), I never would've cared for the band again. I agree that Epica and Evanescence aren't comparable, since Epica is much more operatic-metal, but that doesn't make Amy Lee any less amazing for this genre (and I love that they actually liked each other once they met ♥).
