In chess openings, beginners often struggle with early queen moves. This can lead to the Scholars Mate or other traps involving tactics that lead to losing material. In this video, I hope to show the Wayward Queen Attack and other opening garbage that you can defeat and not worry about anymore.

When you try for scholar’s mate, blunder your queen, but win the game anyway. 800 elo life is wild.

POV: you’re an intermediate player, your opponent brings the queen out early like a noob, you get cocky and ignore him and get mated in the 7th move

It's really fun when you get someone who clearly climbed because of aggressive early queen attacks and there's really long pauses when you block their attacks like 'wait you weren't supposed to do fhat'

Someone once tried a scholar's mate against me, but forgot to move out their bishop.
It was hilarious.

I bet at least 50% of you are here because Nelson always bring out the queen early.

I really like this format where you explain your moves in live chess

I’ve lost hundreds of games because the opponents played the early queen attacks. It is extremely effective at beginner level. I reckon you can get to a decent elo just playing this.

"when in doubt develop a bishop" is gonna be my life motivation now

Me and my friends have dubbed Queen to H5 the North Korean Missle Gambit Because seems intimidating until you realize that there is nothing supporting the actual attack and usually backfires on them.

I never knew how to counter those.
Nelson, the 1300 bot kept messing up my openings. But not anymore Nelson i'm coming for you

Thank you, Levy, today i've successfully blocked early queen attack for the first time and by the turn 8 i had a material advantage of +10, by the turn 25 my opponent retreated, because it is impossible to play with king and three pawns against five pawns, two rooks, a bishop and a queen, and it's all was possible only because i watched this video, thank you!

This kind of play takes you a lot further than just beating bad Queen openings. A lot of games below 1000 just have openings that aren’t exactly straight from the database, sometimes dudes are just gonna throw pieces around. When people do terrible openings it’s just important to stay principled, develop the center, and wear down the opponent.

You'll know you've succeeded when you can force Nelson to play like a normal, principled player.

i like how dumb nelson bot gets when you trade queens real quick

I’ve been feeling super down lately and it’s hard for me to be interested in the things I’m actually interested in and these videos have got me back into chess journaling and playing consistently, so thanks

I went to play nelson right after this, lost first game, won second game cleanly

The trick is developing while attacking the queen so he has to keep dancing around while you develop, trading everything evenly and quick, force an endgame fast, don't fall for the early queen traps, nelson sucks so much at the endgame
