Thanks, I’m new to chess and I never know what to do against those early queen attacks, so this helped me a lot.

I’m a complete beginner who began playing a couple days ago. I didn’t expect myself to need to study how to play chess for hours on end 😂

I love when an opponent uses wayward queen. I get a fast development and they end up losing their queen with no development. Usually ends in a rage quit

The Wayward Queen attack seems like a great opening, until you're no longer 400 rated.

The wayward queen, aka the freelo gambit.

I call it that because if it succeeds it's basically an instant win. But if it fails then it's basically an instant loss

one thing to note about early queen attacks are its position and your pieces position.

yeah the queen looks scary, but always remember the queen cant mate by itself. it always needs at least one piece to deliver a mate.

you gotta check all the squares on which the queen can attack you and defend properly. while you're driving the queen away (because enemy is looking for potential mate) you found yourself developing pieces more and they just keep on moving the same piece again and again achieving nothing.

The best piece of advice I got when I was new was just “look at every piece the queen attacks”. Incredibly obvious in theory, but just taking an extra second to be sure I’m not moving a key defender away from a piece meant queen attacks were suddenly easy to beat instead of terrifying

As someone who almost always does early queen attacks, this was a very insightful video, and perhaps I may try some other strategies.

Learning to deal with early queen attacks from low level players really allowed me to flourish in the game. Your video was a crucial part of my learning to combat them and I wanted to credit and thank you.

On concept #3, you missed the best move, which was also the topic of your video from two days ago. Move the knight attacking the queen results in a discovered check and the knight is blocking the queen instead of checking with the bishop.

Your channel is so awesome. I sometimes take a break from chess because I can’t find that many people to play with. Every time I get back into it I come back to your channel. Love the way you approach things. 🔥🔥🔥

7:03 you can play knight f5 taking/trading the opponents queen, taking assuming they move the king in check and trading if they block the check with the queen

At 7:02, I think Nf5+ is also a good move. White's king is in a discovered check, and their queen is under attack as well

4:34 Also in this situation, there is a fork with knight. (Knight X C2, that move forks Queen and Rook same time. It forces the King to move, because they can't eat the knight in any way, this way you both get a free queen and your opponent loses the right to castling.)

So refreshing to see someone get right to the damn point and outline the strategy from the jump.

This helped me so much. Just played a game where this exact thing happened. I counter attacked his Queen to where he eventually lined up the Queen behind the bishop on the white diagonal, and I made the knight move you mentioned sacrificing the pawn. He took the pawn putting my king in check, I moved the Queen up to get out of check, he realized his Queen was under attack so he moved it to the dark square, thus hanging the bishop so I was able to capture it with my king.
