My wife only replies: “Tai vi xèo xèo xèo !!!” 😂👍♥️
(Because it makes the sound “xèo” 😆)
And since then, I gave the same example to my students as for the “popcorn”, because pop pop pop !!! 😂👍

Personal anecdote : I once went into a café where a charming asian lady was advertising her bánh mì. Since I neved had the chance to experience it, I ordered one, and while she was prepping it, we got into a ten minutes intense debate on weither bánh mì was or was not loaned from french "pain de mie" (flat bread). I then enjoyed my delicious "bánh de mì" and congratulated my host and lauded her vietnamese cooking talent. That's when she corrected me : she was laotian.
