Seeing as it's October, now seems like a good time to look at some truly bizarre and even unsettling marine animals-- including some of this channel's "greatest hits" from times past for new viewers. These are just ten weird deep ocean dwellers encountered by remotely operated vehicles (ROVs.)

Magnapinna squids will always be my favorite weird deep sea creatures.

There´s no creepier footage than that of the magnapinna squid. The jerking of the camera side to side, the down movement to see it´s height, the slow moving squid just passing by and completly vanishing from frame... Looks like a scene from a horror movie

Love footage with female whipnose anglerfish, it's a very extreme depth for this interesting, rare fish. Wish we can see more footages with these strange fishes. And love Chimaera too🖤

4:04 That parasite on the shrimp is crazy, you can see what ever is inside the shell is slowly moving (watch the red lines) it looks like a segmented worm or something

Whilst I found the parasite infested shrimp both fascinating and extremely unsettling, there was something about that particular clip that caught my attention even more!

A while back there was a clip of an unidentified “creature” sitting on the ocean floor. This “creature” may very well have been a rock formation covered in sediment that was getting the best of thanks to the Paradolia effect and two strange (semi-reflective) dots that looked like a pair of beady little.eyes.

So…

Why am I even commenting on that old video? Well, if you look at the rock formation appearing in the middle of the screen as the camera pans toward the shrimp and his little friend, there is a rock that has what appears to be two red shells or agates attached to it that look like two red eyes! I’m not saying this is the same rock from the former video, but I’m definitely suggesting there seems to be multiple rock formations trying to pass for mysterious deep sea creatures lost from time and memory chillin’ on the deep ocean floor!

The whip nose was upside down must be a hunting technique from far away the upside down whip nose angler looks dead. The upside down movement to make sure it lures it's prey give the fins an impression that look like little or tiny arms paddling inverse 7:04.
