when i was in fifth grade i read this horrifying book about this lake house (ik it’s not the ocean) and it was in my class library. but in the book it talked about this lake where there were dead people that drowned at the bottom of the lake and when you would swim in the lake they would grab your ankles and pull you down with them. but it turns out it was all just a prank by the main character’s friends. but really this boy who she had a crush on murdered one of them. then when they ran away he would chant their names in a creepy song while following them with an axe. in the end no one survived and they were all murdered. yeah i read this when i was ten
