I photograph octopus fairly regularly and they are very smart. They also frequently try to grab my underwater camera. I don't think the squid "knows" that it is being recorded. I think it's attracted to something shiny and new that it hasn't seen before.

My question is how do you take your eyes off your child while they’re floating in the ocean?

I got swept out pretty far the first time I went surfing. I had no idea what a rip current was and that you’re supposed to swim back diagonally. I remember I began to panic when I realized I was so far out.

That’s when some David hasslehoff type guy came to me and asked if I needed help. I said yes, held on to his ankle and he saved me. I wish I would have gotten his name..

Not sure about the rest of the world but usually when most of us Aussies are petrified or tripping out over something that's scaring the shit out of us or could be dangerous, we sound highly excitable. That guy was definitely not laughing or enjoying his situation. He was shitting himself....and rightfully so. I bet he pissed himself laughing once he was safe out of relief. A lot of people think we're weird. They're right🙃.

Number two is obviously a manmade cement structure just under the surface. The wave action gives the illusion of movement when it’s actually sitting perfectly still.

I think the man in between the shark and turtle is just experiencing intense adrenaline, shock and nervous laughter was his natural response because he was probably in disbelief of what was even happening.

The fella with a kayak didn't really enjoy the challenging encounter with the shark. Laughing is triggered when someone is frightened, anxious, and put under a lot of pressure.

What kind of ding bat parents allow their kindergarten aged child to be alone and unsupervised in the ocean. I know that currents can be super quick and come out of nowhere, but even if the parents were there, they obviously weren't paying attention for long enough that one minute she was there and the next she was swept out to sea and didn't know where she was and was only noticed by a ferry.
