I'm not sure Huberman is right here. I divide pleasures into stable pleasures and unstable ones. Unstable ones are like smoking a cigarette where you get an instant pleasure and dips into pain. Stable ones are like nature walks - you can do that all day long, when you come home you don't experience a craving/pain to go back and it is a stable source of pleasure. Same with practicing music. By calling cigarettes and music all into a single bucket of dopamine sources, we are misleading ourselves into thinking the pleasure/pain system works the same for all stimuli.
