Brandon Toews Learns “The Dying Song” As Fast As Possible

A little while ago, we dared Domino Santantonio - a modern pop drummer - to play a Slipknot song after hearing it once.

She's not a metal drummer and she's never listened to Slipknot. We also didn't let her hear what the drum part sounded like. Call us unfair, but we thought it turned out great!

Domino gave it her own spin, and over 2.5M views later, she's back to give us a taste of our own medicine.

Love or hate Slipknot, props to Jay. I've seen em quite a few times live and he absolutely crushes it every show!

"I don't play double kick"
immediately plays super fast singles

I hope someday you guys are able to bring the toughest metal drummers and making them play over some unpopular fusion records. that would be sick.

Brandon killed it honestly. I’ve been an extreme metal drummer for 22 years and Jay is a tough dude to replicate.

I don't know what was more impressive - your constant adjustment of your glasses during nailing that song or just simply nailing that song! SO impressive dude!!!

I truely love the video where drummers try to learn a song they don’t know… please more of that content

Wow! He really pushed himself with the double bass. 😮

Domino picked a hard one, for sure. 😂

"I don't play double bass at all." Then proceeds to spit out a perfect 32nd double bass part on the first try.

This is how you see how that guy is a monster. You played one song. You were pretty good. Jay plays 15-18 songs like that in one night. It's surreal.

I didn’t know he was such a beast on the drums. I just gained so much respect for him.

I remember her video she got pretty close to what Joey played without even knowing the song. Its amazing how powerful the human brain and ear are to be able to pick something up so quickly. That was impressive Jay uses a 7 or 8 piece and you pulled it off with a 4. Very nice.

It's crazy how effortless ridiculously talented drummers make songs like this look. You killed it. Such a great job.

I missed her in those videos. Her energy is amazing!

I love Brandon, he looks like a college advanced calculous teacher's aide then he sits down at a drum set and turns into the Zeus of drums.

I am not a drummer but I always thought it looked exhausting, and it was nice to hear someone validate it. That said, this was a whole new level of full body workout 🤯

Honestly, I’m really impressed with the double bass work

Pretty damned convincing performance for "not a metal drummer"!!
I'm impressed.

More of drummers learning new songs and more of Domino! Her Slipknot video was the best.
