I love how his performance is not simply "play through the song" but it's a true performance, live and studio worthy. Legend!

Eloy didn't just memorized/learned to play the song in 6 takes, he also got the vibe/passion of it down perfectly. that's what it's all about. We know how technical he is, but here it's all about getting the feeling right. What an amazing drummer.

No wonder this dude won the Modern Drummer highest award when he was 15 years old.

That take he did there was immaculate. Great job

the song is not so technical but intense. Eloy understands the feeling that goes on and respected the concept of the song. great performance.

Eloy is a one-of-a kind talent. He was just 16 when he joined Andre Matos solo band (ex-Angra singer, died in 2019). The work he does now with Sepultura is just stellar. He is one of the greatest drummers of our generation, which makes the Brazilians really proud of him.

he played a phil collins song as a tribute to his dad and it sounded just like on the record. eloy is a drum prodigy. i hope you will feature him more.

I've watched so many of these "Learns" videos and this is my favorite. He's just so freaking creative and on point. Eloy is by far my favorite drummer of all time. I can't put my finger on exactly why, but he's just so entertaining to watch and listen to. One of the all time great drummers. Love Eloy.

I love how you can see his confidence rise with every take.
It's hard to put into words, but it feels like he is more him the more grounded he is within the song.

I can't get over the power with which this guy pounds the drums. Eloy seems so humble and down to earth also. I would love to see Dave Grohl react to this.

I appreciate how he emphasizes really internalizing the song as opposed to just writing charts. it's the only way to feel those changes with the right energy and confidence to serve the song!

My favorite one of these vids because he truly absorbed the song both on a technical, stylistic, AND emotional level.

Best drummer out there today. No one have his tecnique and his dynamics. He is a true master of the drums.

This is how you work and own a song… THIS IS HOW ITS DONE RESPECTED THE ORIGINAL DRUMMER !!!! Him and Thomas Lang by far the best in the series! Love it

Playing like that in just six takes is insane... Eloy is considered one of the best drummers nowadays for a reason.

That was an amazing thing: to watch someone so well versed in tribal beats, double bass and technical fast fills learning something different than what he used to do, and to see the level of respect and commitment to the source material.

This video proves only he's a servant of music and of the song he's playing, and does not play his world class drums just to show off...
