In this video Peggy explains how the minor scale can be used in your music. You’ll learn how to create powerful melodies and longing harmony with the minor scale.

00:00 Intro
00:57 Natural
02:30 Harmonic
03:02 Melodic
03:47 Review
04:57 Examples
07:16 Outro

Each has a slightly different use, but all three scales include the distinctive minor third interval.

After learning all of the minor scales we’ll look at how they’re used in popular music (5:08). Doing this is important, because it’s key to train your ear to hear the different minor scales.

How do you use minor scales in your music? Do you make cool TLC-inspired instrumentals, too?

Damn, your videos are criminally underrated. I think I'm finally starting to get the theory behind riffs a bit more. I've looked up scales, and they expect you to know intervals, then you look up intervals and they expect you to know scales. I knew the major and minor scales, but just in an abstract way. No I kind of see how you put them together into a melody. Thank you.
