Essential Guitar Theory Lesson - The Minor Scale

As mentioned before, any scale from now on in can be derived from the major scale. The numbers 1-8 with no alterations 'spell' a major scale. When you start altering those numbers you get new scales. To create a minor scale you need to take those numbers and flatten the 3rd, 6th and 7th notes. We can clearly see how this works int he diagram below. (See website).

Perhaps you should've explained the minor scale in the same way you did the major scale, by steps. The major scale is tone, tone, semi-tone, tone, tone, tone, semi-tone. The minor scale is tone, semi-tone, tone, tone, semi-tone, tone, tone. This makes it easier to explain for example Am that has no accidentals. Thank you for doing all these videos, generally I find them very helpful!
