Bankart Repair | Improving Shoulder Girdle Strength and Stability | Part 9
Показать описание
Here is a patient who underwent rotator cuff (supraspinatus) and Bankart lesion repair 10.5 months ago. Her only remaining deficit is lack of strength and dynamic stability for the right shoulder girdle. This video includes two great exercises for addressing her functional limitations with overhead movements.
The exercises are performed in a plank position with a shoulder abduction movement. To increase the involvement/difficulty for shoulder girdle and spinal stability, the exercise is progressed from a three-point plank to a two-point plank.
Coaching proper performance for theses exercises focuses on
✅ Neutral spine
✅ Breathing diaphragmatically
✅ Proper movement pattern
✅ Controlled movement
Effective and efficient rehab is criterion-based, not time-based.

Always consult your physician before beginning any exercise program. STOP exercising if you experience any symptoms of weakness, unsteadiness, light-headedness/dizziness, chest pain or pressure, nausea, or shortness of breath.
Performing these exercises should not cause pain. If you experience pain while exercising, decrease the speed of your movement. If the pain persists - STOP. Mild soreness after exercising may be experienced after beginning a new exercise.
