I had Arthroscopic Bankart Repair In November 28, this year but why my surgeon didn't tell me to sling?

I had SLAP repair surgery two weeks ago and the doctor cleared me for removing the sling and starting rehab going into next week (week 3). They said that I can start actively moving my my arm forward and laterally, but not across body or reaching around my back.

I’m not physically able to really lift the arm in either direction on my own for lack of feeling. Is this normal, and should I be trying to force these movements?

My surgeon told me to remove the sling in two weeks. After checking my arm.

What happens if the patient removes the sling often after 2 weeks? My shoudler feels very loose even at 5 weeks.
