Jesus infuriated the Scribes and Pharisees of His time by blatantly breaking their Sabbath laws and traditions as a demonstration that the Messiah had come. He is the Lord of the Sabbath. The New Covenant.

For us, Paul spells it out for those who want to keep to holidays and traditions and those who don't.
"One person esteems one day above another; another esteems every day alike. Let each be fully convinced in his own mind." Romans 14:5

For me itโ€™s simple: Christ kept the Sabbath so I do too. He โ€œrememberedโ€ it so I will too. If He wanted me to observe a different day He wouldโ€™ve said so. He certainly had the opportunity to say something about it after His resurrection, and that wouldโ€™ve been the perfect time to set the record straight too. He didnโ€™t. He said nothing about changing the day to be โ€œremembered.โ€

This is not a salvation issue. Let those who want to honor the sabbath do it. Itโ€™s not a mandate for all

Hebrews 10:25 states, "Let us not neglect to meet together, as is the habit of some, but let us encourage one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.".

Look, God made the earth in 6 days, then He RESTED! I believe there are obvious commandments in scripture, then there is WISDOM which we must learn over time in our walk with The Lord. It is WISDOM to have a 'day of rest.' ๐Ÿ™‚

Hebrews 4:1-11 explains that We as believe rest in Jesus. The Sabbath was made for man not man for the Sabbath, Mark 2:27. God rested from all his work on the seventh day and now We are resting inJesus as our Lord and Savior. Jesus came not to abolish the law, but the fulfill them. We as Christians live out every day as a Sabbath in our Lord.

Sorry but I believe Frank is wrong on this one. Each โ€œnewโ€ covenant given by God was in addition to the previous covenant. It doesnโ€™t eliminate the previous covenant, but adds to it in order to complete a promise or fulfill a prophecy. Jesus never said he came to abolish the Law but to fulfill or complete. Fulfilling meaning He kept all of the Laws, which none of us are able to do so. The Sabbath is a day of rest for all mankind, as God rested from creating on the 7th day. Genesis 2 v 3, God separated the 7th day as Holy, so this day was Holy even before the commandment was given to Moses to remember the Sabbath and KEEP it holy. Christians - do not boast that we are grafted in because we do not support the root (the Jews) but the root supports us.

How is it that the natural born children have to keep the Instructions, but the adopted children do not?

Frank always cherry picks when asked this question. I wonder why he never brings up Matt 5:18:
For truly I tell you, UNTIL HEAVEN AND EARTH PASS AWAY, not one letter, not one stroke of a letter, will pass from the law until all is accomplished.

Is all accomplished? No, according to Christians, Jesus hasn't returned to destroy evil and satan.

as Jews at the time of Jesus they kept the sabbath perfectly, so there was no reason for Jesus to teach, repeat, or educate them about the very sabath God told them to remember and so thats why Jesus dint mentioned about the keeping of sabath

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil

Could you be more specific? I think it's dangerous to say that the Old testament is not for Christians. It's true that we are not under the law, but Peter said that it's to be used for correction and instruction in righteousness. Paul, agreed in Romans that it is holy and we are in agreement with. Not as pertains to the ceremonial law, of course. Has Jesus fulfilled that. Jesus is my Sabbath.

Jesus is the Sabbath. By accepting Him, we cease all of our own works and observe the Sabbath 7 days a week.

So the answer is yes. You are required to keep the fourth commandment, just like all the others. But not in the way this student is implying.

If you observe the Sabbath on Saturday only, it's very likely that you have not entered into the promised Rest. Jesus is our Rest.

Does that mean you can't shut everything down once a week? It depends on the reason. If you're doing it for the purpose of keeping the fourth commandment, then it's wrong. It's a rejection of the Rest offered by Christ. If you're doing it just to wind down, then there's nothing wrong with it. But the second scenario is extremely rare among people who call themselves Christian.

What does Jesus say? Remember, Jesus and his disciples were Jews, they were not actively trying to start a new religion.

Matthew 5:17-20

Or, you could listen to the unknown author of Hebrews. Who was trying to persuade more Jews into the movement.

(The Bible is clear, just read your Bible. No, you arenโ€™t interpreting that correctly)
