Depends on your goal. Minimum to start so you take advantage of "newbie gains." 3 days a week is a great start. Pay attention to recovery. Don't overwork yourself so you burn out. Remember muscles are broken down in the gym, but grow during recovery- so take time to recover.

On the days I take a break from doing weights, can I do cardio? Like running? or should I rest completely? Thanks
