Based on Donald L. Miller’s book of the same name, and scripted by John Orloff, “Masters of the Air” follows the men of the 100th Bomb Group (the “Bloody Hundredth”) as they conduct perilous bombing raids over Nazi Germany and grapple with the frigid conditions, lack of oxygen, and sheer terror of combat conducted at 25,000 feet in the air. Portraying the psychological and emotional price paid by these young men as they helped destroy the horror of Hitler’s Third Reich, is at the heart of “Masters of the Air.” Some were shot down and captured; some were wounded or killed. And some were lucky enough to make it home. Regardless of individual fate, a toll was exacted on them all.

The series features a stellar cast led by Academy Award nominee Austin Butler, Callum Turner, Anthony Boyle and Nate Mann, who are joined by Raff Law, Academy Award nominee Barry Keoghan, Josiah Cross, Branden Cook and Ncuti Gatwa.

Hailing from Apple Studios, "Masters of the Air" is executive produced by Steven Spielberg through Amblin Television, and Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman for Playtone. Amblin Television’s Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey co-executive produce alongside Playtone’s Steven Shareshian. In addition to writing, Orloff co-executive produces. Graham Yost also serves as co-executive producer. Anna Boden & Ryan Fleck, Cary Joji Fukunaga, Dee Rees and Tim Van Patten serve as directors.

I wish my Dad was still alive to see this. He was a pilot of a B-24 Liberator in the 93rd Bomb Group of the 8th Air Force, stationed at Hardwick Airfield in Norfolk, England.

Band of Brothers and The Pacific are both incredible, I expect nothing less for this one too

My Dad was Second Lt., with the Army Air Force, a navigator in WWII. Shot down on his first mission and captured by the Germans and was a POW for 2&1/2 years. 😢. He would have loved to see this movie but he left us when he was 92. He was my hero

I was an extra on this (I'm the guy operating the projector at 0:41)

It's not easy standing behind a projector looking so serious.

I hope i didn't overshadow Calumn and Austin too much...

You're gonna love it.

My dad and my uncle were best friends who married sisters. They were best friends for life.

Dad was in European theater, as well as Pacific. My uncle captained a B17 Flying Fortress : The Red Ryder (his last name was Ryder) complete with painted name, image etc.

369th bomb group who helped deal with Stuttgart, Germany in 1943, I think.

I feel like I watched my dad’s story in Band of Brothers, now I get to see my Uncles story in Masters of the Air.

Very excited!

I've watched and re-watched Band of Brothers an almost embarrassing number of times. Bring on Masters of Air!

So hyped on this. My grandad was a b-17 tail gunner. Flew over on Dday, was shot down twice and survived. Thank you for telling their story.

I live nearby a cemetery where hundreds of American and British pilots are buried who died while flying over Holland. Most of these boys were hardly over 20 years old. Every now and then I’ll pay them a visit to show respect for all the men and boys who died fighting the greatest evil of all time. This series looks amazing btw

This trailer is very polished looking. I hope they haven't abandoned the gritty realism and harsh tone that in my book is what made Band of Brothers and the Pacific the timeless classics that they are. There is a reason those two series are timeless while WWII films like Unbroken and Red Tails or the recent Greyhound with Tom Hanks on Apple TV aren't - it's the manufactured smaltz factor that the latter have. I think Butler is a fine actor, but I hope he's not over-emoting this entire series like it comes across in the trailer

My dad, who was born in 1938 near Leiden, The Netherlands, would always tell us about the flying fortresses and how they flew over during the war. But more about the times they would drop crates with Swedish flower, to bake bread from. For a 7 year old boy this was so impressive and live saving, he was really grateful to those who fought during the war and ensured his kids would be as well.

My grandpa a pilot in the 491st his B-24 was shot down after 23 missions he used the talk of the flak with a quivering voice.
He was the bravest man I ever knew when I wanted to join the military he asked me not to. It changed me he said, you see things you can't unsee and do things you cannot undo.
I thank god for all those who served and serve and do those things that cannot be undone and see the things that cannot be unseen so other's don't have to.

I supervised the cg Environments on this show, and lots of people worked until they were fully drained to make it look this good. Was an honor to pay tribute to those who gave their lives for us to be here today. This is a masterpiece indeed! cheers!, enjoy!

My dad’s first cousin (my 2nd) was Gale “Buck” Cleven. I heard many stories about him growing up. I met him and his dad when I was quite young. I wish my dad was still around to see this.

My late father was a WW2 vet, drafted into the Army at 18 (hadn't even graduated from high school yet). Ended up in Patton's 3rd Army, 90th infantry division during the Battle of the Bulge. Wounded once, walked into the Flosenberg concentration camp at 18 years old ( how could you process that?). I love you dad, you were the best dad a man could ask for!

My father was a WW2 Lancaster pilot in the elite Pathfinder section of RAF bomber command. He would have loved this tribute to his US brothers in arms. RIP Dad.
