From Steven Spielberg, Tom Hanks, and Gary Goetzman - the producers of Band of Brothers and The Pacific. During World War II, airmen risk their lives with the 100th Bomb Group, a brotherhood forged by courage, loss, and triumph.

Based on Donald L. Miller’s book of the same name, and scripted by John Orloff, “Masters of the Air” follows the men of the 100th Bomb Group (the “Bloody Hundredth”) as they conduct perilous bombing raids over Nazi Germany and grapple with the frigid conditions, lack of oxygen, and sheer terror of combat conducted at 25,000 feet in the air. Portraying the psychological and emotional price paid by these young men as they helped destroy the horror of Hitler’s Third Reich, is at the heart of “Masters of the Air.” Some were shot down and captured; some were wounded or killed. And some were lucky enough to make it home. Regardless of individual fate, a toll was exacted on them all.

The series features a stellar cast led by Academy Award nominee Austin Butler, Callum Turner, Anthony Boyle and Nate Mann, who are joined by Raff Law, Academy Award nominee Barry Keoghan, Josiah Cross, Branden Cook and Ncuti Gatwa.

Hailing from Apple Studios, "Masters of the Air" is executive produced by Steven Spielberg through Amblin Television, and Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman for Playtone. Amblin Television’s Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey co-executive produce alongside Playtone’s Steven Shareshian. In addition to writing, Orloff co-executive produces. Graham Yost also serves as co-executive producer. Anna Boden, Ryan Fleck, Cary Joji Fukunaga, Dee Rees and Tim Van Patten serve as directors.

Just watched both episodes man. People need to watch movies like this and saving private ryan. Then you will know what heroes really look like. They are why we can sit on the couch and watch TV. Bless them all past and present

Hollywood needs to make a lot of money and the proceeds of this movie should be given to a fund that helps our veterans for without them they couldn't make these movies. I knew a number of WWII aviators and few of them thought it was a glory job.

I’ve just watched the first episode and sat here on my comfortable sofa in complete silence, shock and disbelief. In the words of one of the greatest leaders of my island nation "Never was so much owed by so many to so few" prime minister Winston Churchill on 20 August 1940. I am so grateful for their sacrifice and for the peace that they have created. May their sacrifice NEVER be forgotten.

Ww2 is full of stories. On the day of the liberation, in a town in belgium, a girl got married, wearing an american parachute as a wedding dress. I'm not sure if it was to an american soldier but it still touched me ;)

My Grandpa was a pilot for the Soviet Union during WW2 (born and stationed in Ukraine). He died a few years ago. He told us stories about him being shot down, partying in liberated Germany and shaking hands with the son of Stalin (also a pilot during WW2).
He´d love to see something like this.

I love the story of the "The Bloody Century" but if you want a "Band of Brothers" Air Force movie you need to look at the 475th Fighter Group. Not just the first, second and third highest scouring American Aces, not just the highest scouring group in Air Force history, but Charles F'ing Lindberg as well .

The amazing thing to me is that the flak canisters would go 1, 000 ft per second, therefore at 30, 000 ft it is shot with a 30 sec lead time. The Allies knew this and would change direction at a selected interval. The strategy they employed was very sophisticated

Looks like alot of fast moving cgi and very polished and missing the gritty realism of 'band of brothers ' and ' the Pacific'. I've a bad feeling about this...Tom, Steven..prove me wrong 🙏.
I've been to Thorpe Abbotts, home of the 100th bomb group. The museum is a piece of history and all the pictures and artifacts you can see, along with the feel of the place brought it home for me. Real history. Not Hollywood's adaptation.
