Hubby and I paid off about 15k so far in 3 months. 30k to go then we'll start trippling up on our mortgage payment and start saving for 6 months of expenses and for our 2nd house down payment. We will keep our current home and rent it out. It'll be paid for in about 4 years after trippling the mortgage payment. So excited for our future and we owe it all to God. 🙏🏽🙌🏾🥳

I keep a credit card for security as well for the same can't risk my main bank account getting smaller checking account got taken for 1000 with in a week from using my debit at a local gas station. It took 2 weeks to get it back. This is exactly why I can't get rid of a credit card much online stuff, too much risk for hacking

I don't think they really understood what Molly was saying about being abroad with her credit card. They're saying you're protected. Molly was saying, "Being stuck with without the funds to continue or get back. Of course the bank is going to give you your money back... but are they going to put back before we hangup the phone with them? You need your money right now....not in 20 business days!!!

Any amount of money I get back in my federal tax return is paid directly to the state of Maryland in taxes owed… so annoying. Thank you for busting myth #3.

Jade is right about marriage. Living with someone for 12 years and two kids together and not quite sure if marriage is for you, especially since you can't afford the big wedding (otherwise known as the party)? I guess some folks just can't make up their minds. Many women are unaware of all the financial benefits of being married. For one thing, if a husband is a higher earner, a wife can qualify for his social security benefit when he dies if she is still alive if they have been married at least 10 years and a day. (Wives usually outlive their husbands.) In the meantime, she can qualify for half his social security while holding off on claiming her own at a later age which means more monthly income. Doesn't matter how many times the husband has been married - EACH of his wives who has been married to him for 10 years and a day can claim off his social security (if he is the higher earner.)

The rental car thing puzzles me. I can rent a car at a local agency with my debt card, I can rent a car at the airport with a return flight. Fine. I had an issue on a motorcycle trip where I was going to have to leave my bike for some repairs but needed to be back home for work. I could not rent a car out of town with a debt card or no flight out of that airport.

Because of that one issue, I got a credit card for traveling emergencies. Hadn’t had one in 6 years but didn’t want to be stranded without options again.
