If your goal is to get big, don't go cardio. If your goal is to live a long healthy life, prioritize cardio. (Statistically)

Never skip cardio. Not everyone wants to lose the ability to scratch their back.

Ah yes. Multiple visits to the gym per day.

If the only goal is to get big*. If your goal is to leverage your limited time in the gym to achieve greater overall health - then by all means do cardio. Any slight decrease you get from interrupting recovery, is vastly outweighed by the increase in cardio

People talk about cardio like it's going to completely destroy your gains. 10-15 mins will do nothing to your muscle gains. Chill

As a former wrestler, you do both. And you will be in the best shape of your life.

I do 20 min light cardio after the workout and something about it helps with my anxiety and helps me sleep better. I'm not saying Doctor Mike is wrong, my recovery likely does take longer, but I just relax and sleep better.

A tip I’ve learnt when listening to fitness influencers is 1st understanding what their goal is and what pov they’re speaking from so Dr Mike is all about building muscle and body builders so his advice stems from that meaning when he says cardio isn’t the best that’s coming from a purely muscle building standpoint that’s why you can have a calisthenics, nutritionist and a power lifter all tell you contradicting things simply because their(audiences)
goals are all different and there aren’t many whole truths when it comes to fitness and health

Hitting arms and then running 20 minutes will have no negative effects on your arms recovery.

Bro. We ain’t all trying to look like a freak that runs out of breath walking up 6 stairs. Cardio after workout is perfectly fine for of gym goals

Maybe he's right if you're a professional bodybuilder but for people like us who have other things to do multiple daily sessions are just not feasible. So cardio after workout is a lot better than no cardio.

Running 30 minutes after lifting 2 to 3 times a week isn't gonna kill your gains.

I’m in the infantry. We lift, run and train hard. This is probably the best way to get results imo. Either run before your lift or after it’ll have you feeling and looking right.
Don’t get caught up in body builders who can barely walk up a flight of stairs without taking a break.

Cardio is absolutely good no matter when

My rules are:
1. Low intensity cardio for warming up before lifting or after working out to burn extra calories to meet certain goals
2. High intensity cardio on any other day you don't lift/leg day
3. Sports (basketball, volleyball, etc.) a day or two AFTER lifting

It may hinder your growth but if you wanna be healthy do some cardio. Most important muscle is the heart

The difference that waiting to do cardio makes is so small, it’s only significant if you’re a competitive body builder. If you’re not trying to be Mr Olympia and just want to maximize the time you have to workout everyday, cardio after workout is just fine

You guys need to remember that literally all of his videos are about hypertrophy and bodybuilding. He's not talking about overall fitness or longevity. His entire channel is about the most efficient way to make your muscles bigger.

Imagine going to the gym twice a day, one for training, and one more time to do cardio. This is the reality of "influencers" they have nothing else to do with their lives and think we neither 🫥

First time I disagree with Mike on the IF you do it part.

IF you do it, do it afterwards cause if you do it at the start, you waste energy you'll be lacking for lifting
