This is sooo bad! Many parents are competing with each other, taking their kids to so many lessons. It's a big thing in Cyprus as well, believe it or not. My girls extra activities are only one thing, football and ballet, which they choose to do. So much stress is clearly not productive. Parents, wake up! Creative, free play is so important for brain development and problem solving, socialisation etc...😮

Those children are going to be completely stressed out as adults can't we just let them be kids? That's so sad to see how much homework these kids get sometimes it's 3 4 hours of homework! And then all signed up for instrumental and sports it gets to the point of ridiculousness so now you have 8-year-old stressed like adults.. not good at all

I agree. Parents need to let kids be kids. If kid shows interest in something pursue it but not to point kid has no free time. And set boundaries

I agree that children here in The States are involved in too many activities. Everyone needs down time to relax and play.

My grandparents and parents always encouraged 1 sport, 1 instrument, and 1 new language. After that, it was up to me if I wanted to do more. That’s plenty.

Yeah im 17 and my parents have me take on 4 jobs on top of early college homework its the most stressful thing

Putting the extracurriculars before getting the homework done is pretty warped priorities from the parents.

I remember this episode, if I remember correctly all four children had between 8 - 12 activities per week, including the six year old, the mother was stressed out from arranging and driving to all of these activities, and the father would come home late in the evening and reenergise the kids, so they barely slept as well. Supernanny had the family cut the activities down to one or two per week.

I told my sons school to forget 'homework' for him...and detention. I said 'if your teachers cant teach my son in their allocated hours its not his fault. Schoolwork is for school. His time outside of school is his own.' They tried to push it...l said...'l said no. I do not agree to schoolwork outside of school. He has chores to do and life to live.' They then allowed him to do 'Homework' at school. 🙄🙄 l found the standards of education were very bad compared to when l was at school. Its like they're deliberately dumbing down the population...

My mom always made me do one; I could drop it at anytime and change it but the one kept me busy but still had to to play, work or do whatever else I want

I remember what that was like. Homework is completely counter productive and I had to waste 4 hours A-day doing it.
