~~~~ Distance Learning Tips ~~~
1: Take Frequent Breaks
Remote learning requires A LOT of screen time
👉 Follow the 20/20/20 Rule
Every 20 minutes
Take a 20 second break
Looking 20 feet away
Hopefully, this will reduce the chance of digital eye strain
2: Limit Blue Light Exposure
Online learning requires the use of digital screens which emit Blue Light.
Blue light can change your sleep cycle by reducing melatonin.
~~~ Blue light tips for distance learning ~~~
🔹Decrease computer use in the evening
🔹Turn on any blue light mode apps
🔹Consider Blue Light glasses and screen protectors

🌟The anti blue light desk lamp I use:
Use code DR10%JA for 10% off

3: Prevent Dry Red Eyes
Staring at the screen reduces your blink rate and can lead to dry tired eyes.
- Blink your eyes frequently
- Blink 100% (completely close your eyes)
- Use Rewetting or Lubrication drops as needed

I've saw a news article in newspaper today stating about the treatment of cataracts being developed by Indian scientists through aspirin eye drops, It will be available within 3 years if all stages of testing goes well and you will no longer need surgery to treat cataracts, Crazy to see how far is Science moving forward, Future is gonna be awesome.

Thank you so much for this video. My job is very computer heavy and since last week I've been feeling foggy but not quite lightheaded, just spacey. I soon discovered that my eyes were super strained. I have to go watch your blue light glasses video to see about good recommendations for that but I've definitely been slacking on giving myself a break. I've noticed whenever I get up from the computer I feel better. This video couldn't have come at a better time for me!

This video came just in time! Thank you doctor! My eyes are getting so tired from studying everyday and I didn’t know that blue lights can affect them. I’ve been watching your channel lately and I found it very helpful, not only with these tips but also with my contact lense journey. Keep up the hard work! 😃

Dr. J. Allen thank you for your helpful tips for preventing dry eyes and reducing blue light emitted from our digital devices. Just wish I had someone as knowledgeable, professional and as caring as you as an eye doctor. Subscribed to your Instagram page and love your short stories both on here (YouTube) and Instagram.

This is the video I really needed. I have to look at the screen for hours because of my online lessons, also I have to draw for few hours every day and I think it makes my eyes feel bad too. I want to protect my eye health, I’ll try these tips!

This is great:
(From Francis Young's Plus Study, and Statistics. The "p value", was less than 0.0001 for the 5 years of his study. )
With 20/50, on my Snellen, I always wear a "prevention plus lens", to totally prevent further entry into myopia.
When I read at 20 inches (-2 Diopters stress), I wear a +2 Diopter, that completely ends the effect of close work on my eyes.
Thanks for your review!
There is a difference of opinion about doing this effectively.
That is what science is all about.

Hi! Thank you for this, my eyesight is almost at -6, at least the last time I checked. I haven't gone to the doctor for about 2 years, I've always been scared. I'm still a student, haven't finished school yet, I get to spend 4 hours in front of the computer everyday. I'll try to follow these from now, thanks :)
