Blender 2.8: Working with layers

In this simple tutorial i will explain to you how you can work with layers on Blender 2.8, because the process is a little bit different from blender 2.79.

This tutorial is EXACTLY what I needed because I'm using Blender 3.0, another tutorial I was watching to create hair used Blender 2.79 and that tutorial placed a set of hair curves in different Layers. Blender 3.0 does not use that Layers. Thank you for explaining the change! Man, I Love YouTube

thankyou, i'm learning & using Blender 3.0 and its been incredibly frustrating.
selecting the object in edit mode pressing the [N] key pop-out menu ok the right hand side.
just now i accidently clicked on the side of the the margen with all the tools for the moderfires and all the icons disappeared. that a side ill find a way later to bring it back.

getting back to the "layers" I can't separate the new layers, add a new object defaults it to the the original layer no mater what i tried.
done everything here and nothing worked, selecting the collection then adding doesn't work.
the only way i have been able to add new object and separate them. is add the object right click > separate > selection then manually drag to the new collection, which brakes the new added object as it can be selected again. >_<

sorry to bring this up, even selecting vertices is cratered by by someone playing a joke or something.
when use box select {Shift} to add [ctrl] to unselect
press [C] acn use curser select however [shift] to unselect and [Ctrl] to add, default mouse left s add Middle mouse is unselect.
its just mind boggling how the programmers are able to function with simple tasks like opening a door 🥺
or was one a PC user and the other a mac user? i feel crazy just trying to make a simple signet ring, and adding separate layer.

Also watch on a tetoral of a guy making a penguin he was able to select separate objects threw a mess of vertices. how do the isolate the object to do that?

Sorry but this tutorial is distracting!
Why did you call it working with layers and show stuff about collections? Menu layer is just right on top of the outliner (View Layer <- taht's what you would have mentioned) in your video. Was waiting the whole video, you would say a word about it.
