This is great tutorial. Clear, easy to follow and straight to the point. It is the answear to a problem i was tryng to solve for few days . The only thing i didnt know was that you actually have to do the final render to see the result, after setting up the nodes in compositor. The simple thing but it wasnt obvious for me . Otherwise that tutorial was a blessing! So thank you thank you !!! Keep doing what you doing, we need you.

Oooh, amazing! Thank you, this is really great, works like a charm!! :D
Had to figure out why I didn't had transparency first tho. It was the leftover Volumetric Scatter thingie from the gradient lamps in the world shader on the scene where I didn't needed it xP
You're awesome dude!

This is great but how do you add in the reflections and shadows etc, that are coming from the other objects in the other layers. Alpha over is literally alpha OVERing regardless of those other elements?

thank you, i was using combine z nodes and it was combining them but only the base render layers, so my glare wasn't showing up

Great video :) Can we render layers (not scenes) and compositing this way? I'm asking this because I'm planning to do a 2.5D parallax animation. So after that, I want to use some blur effects in Blender composition for the background layers like camera fake Depth of field.

After combining these scenes, is it still possible to edit the objects (move, rotate, scale, etc.) as well as the nodes?

Two scenes combine well in the backdrop with your method. But when I do a render image it only show the first scene.

I have a problem, does the lighting in the second layer affect the first layer ? I want to have both layers rendered as single image but objects from first layer must cast shadows even on second layer how to achieve that ?

can you do this with animated scenes. say I want to composite a bunch of render animations together, is this possible. I would assume you have to make sure your camera is doing the same movement for each scene. or is there a way to do the camera movement after you have composited all scenes together? thanks!

Brilliant. Will this work with just the same scene but different view layers? And what if I had an animated light source, maybe make it move around. Will that work too? Sry if these are stupid questions, I'm a newbie

and what if the mesh colide with eachother? and I want to render a suzane in eevee and the cube in cycle, and half suzane is inside the cube?

Another great tutorial. I have a question let's say you want the composite result of the monkey scene to be in the compositor of the cube scene, how can you achieve that? The render layers node is raw pre compositing footage.

Is there a way to render some scenes for 100 frames and another scene render for 1000 frames but have the first scene just loop after it renders so i dont have to render it for the whole 1000 frames?

my renderer is not talking to my compositor. i have two layers. only one layer will render. how do i get the "image" node which has the background image. on to my sencond layer/second scene? the "composite" and "viewer" nodes all look good with the proper combined image. but it won't render as seen on the composite node or node editor indow.
