Easy simple stew/pie dumplings

Makes 15 dumplings

Ingredients
100g plain flour
50g butter
Black pepper
1tspn baking powder
1/2 tspn salt

Instructions
In a bowl add the flour, pepper, salt and baking powder, give it a mix then add the butter, break the butter with your fingers and slowly start adding bits of water, until the dough comes together but doesnt stick on your hands.
Make little ball shapes then drop them into the stew and let it simmer for 20-30 minutes.

I've never made dumplings before. My Mum used to make the most amazing 'Golden syrup dumplings'. I should learn.

Put butter in freezer for 15 to 30 minutes then grate before mixing with water saves messy hands.

Have you tried dumplings made with just plain flour. They take a little longer to cook but are soid and delicious.
