I've been doing chicken and dumplings almost exactly like this for over a decade now. Extremely cheap, makes a lot, very filling, and tastes amazing. Whoever originally thought to use canned biscuits for the dumplings instead of hand-making them is a damn genius.

Here's one for Campbell's fans. My mum in the UK took a pound of skinless sausages, large chopped onion, sage, seasoning, can Campbells condensed Tomatoe soup made up to serve four and four good earthy potatoes (to absorb the soup sauce) and a jigger of Worcs. Sauce. Cook on stove. Its a complete meal and very tasty. Very popular with kiddo's.❤

Southern tradition to use biscuits in chicken and dumplings. What he’s doing is not abnormal to most people who grew up in the south. My grandma would make homemade biscuit dough for her chicken and dumpling recipe!

If you do that in a Dutch oven and bake it for bout 12 minutes the top half of those biscuits will brown and the bottom half stays like a dumpling.
It's 100% delicious
