I have the 7.3. I dont tow much and this engine is plenty capable, $10K + less, no DEF, less fuel, oil, filter cost. And the 7.3 is actually quicker off the line until you reach 55 or so.

I picked the 7.3 for mine, the only option I can’t get that I prefer would be a manual transmission, I miss my stick shift.

I Just purchased the 2023 6.8L Gasser. First gas truck I have owned in over 6 years. So far I love everything about it. Smooth ride for a Super Duty truck. Don't need to tow super heavy loads and the Diesel in California is more expensive than regular gas. I cannot wait to take it for a long road trip. I have around 2300 miles on it right now.

6.7 HO if someone else is paying for it. 6.8 gas if i'm paying for it.

Love the idea behind these videos but I think the question is too open ended. I would have loved it had you asked them “Based on reliability alone, if this were going to be the vehicle your business depended on, what engine would you choose and why?”

So I've noticed that, for the most part, those who were a little older said the 7.3 while the younger crowd perferred the 6.7 "because of the power." If it were me, I would pick 7.3 also. I'm a suburban boy and if I can't tow it with an F-250 gas, I don't need it, or it's too expensive. On top of that, I'll never tap into the power available for that motor, and I don't want to deal with the maintenance associated with it.

I agree with almost everyone in the video. My 2021 F550 is the 6.7. It pulls a 40 foot gooseneck all week. It has 170, 674 miles and has worked through 47 states. I also have a 2022 F350 srw, single cab with the 7.3 gas. I bought it to tow bumper pull toys. They are both perfect for what I use them for. And no other manufacturer compares.
Great video

Thank goodness for options, IMHO unless you are towing more than 15, 000 lbs or live in the mountains, the 7.3 is more than enough, plus the aftertreatment systems SUCK when the repair or replacement times come. I do own a 2022 F250 with the 7.3 with a 4.30 gear and have not run out of power yet.

I’ve got a 6.8 and I love it so far. It’s been reliable, easy to maintain, plenty of power, no emissions bs, and I’m getting 19 mpg highway which is impressive for a gasser.

I honestly was going to buy the 7.3 gas 250 when I was shopping two years ago but I ended up buying the 6.7 diesel 250 mostly because resale value and reliability reputation. The power is incredible and surprisingly I get pretty good miles per gallon for a three-quarter ton diesel truck

I ordered the 7.3 and it does all I need. If I was still towing heavy I'd go back to diesel. I feel it really depends on the use/need.

I like the 7.3 for being a well designed engine, but powerstroke #1. Love the ability for 6.7 to put down crazy torque at low rpm. I still have the 17 version and wouldn’t give it up.

Godzilla baby, with the supercharger! King ranch trim, that’s the dream right there

For regular driving, 7.3 no question. For towing, the 6.7, and it’s not the power, it’s the exhaust brake that makes the difference for me towing through the mountains. I wanted the 7.3 when I bought my 6.7, but I’m glad I got the oil burner.

7.3 for me, Cost less, No DEF, IF price is no issue then the Hi-output Diesel is the one I would get, But 12K for it 🤯 No way.

I have an F350 with the 7.3 and it pulls my dump trailer loaded weighing approx 18k. Honestly can't tell I'm pulling anything. No more DEF, I can idle at baseball games and it runs and drives like a luxury car. AND NO MORE DIESEL EMISSIONS ISSUES...Good job Ford!

I went 7.3, didn’t want the maintenance of diesel and the Godzilla had gobs of power for my needs.

I’ve had both 6.2 gas and 6.7 diesel for work trucks with a new gas 250 on the way with I assume the 6.8. I work in the oil industry for a chemical company so we haul not tow. Unless I’m hauling over mountains the gas trucks usually do fine. The diesels have great power and torque but the cost is definitely higher maintenance. If I were looking to buy one with my own money for myself I’m probably going with the 7.3 because I don’t need the torque for towing heavy loads, lower maintenance costs, and even the 6.2 I was driving yesterday can get 16 mpg

I was waiting for the tally at the end, like when you did the other engine choice and the 5.0 won all day.
