My 2001 4.6L F-150 might be a gas guzzler, but it's still purring along with 472, 813 miles. It's a single cab manual, which makes it even more fun!

I bought a 2006 Ford F-150 5.4 3v 4x4 for dirt cheap with a blown engine and Ive been working on installing a remanufactured engine and they addressed the common failure points. I've got the engine in and it purrs like a kitten! I figured it'd be better to buy an older used truck and put some money into it and end up owning it outright then take out $30k-$70k on a brand new truck 😂

Fords best combo was their 300 straight 6 with a manual transmission back in the late 80s through the 90s. Those were as good as a Toyota.

Scotty's Kinetic energy can power this f150 for years, no problem. Just the energy from his arms alone can push this truck 150, 000 miles.

I am the original owner of a 02 Ford Explorer with the 4.6L V8. It has 195000 miles and still runs trouble free. Best open road motor ever built.

5.0 for the 1/2 tons and 6.2 for the 3/4 are some of the best v8 engines out there in my opinion.

I have this exact truck with 4wd, can confirm it's an awesome truck. 180, 000 miles and still running strong!

I have a 2015 Ford F-150 Lariat with the 5.0L Coyote and it's been an amazing vehicle! I really cannot give it enough praise.

Recently got a used '16 with 50k miles on it and a 3.5 L V6 naturally aspirated engine and RWD all because of your videos. I figured I don't need the V8 if im just hauling around kayaks and lumber and no need for 4x4 since im not in a snowy area or doing offroading. I got 25.5 mpg today on the highway driving like a granny at the speed limit. So far I'm pleased with the truck and hope it holds up.

I have a very basic 2018 F-150 - it has been really good, grown to like it:
3.3L V6 - no turbo
2WD 6-speed automatic
Regular cab
Crank up windows !

We have one of these exact trucks at 250k miles, it’s awesome! Definitely can confirm the 5.0L is a dream of an engine. It influenced me to get a 13th gen with a 2 wheel drive, 5.0l, and 6 speed. This combo is bullet proof. Engine still strong, but will likely outlast everything else.

My dad is still driving his 2002 F150 5.4 triton with 365k miles on it. All repairs the truck needed he did it himself. Aside from the interior deterioration it drives pretty good.

Used to watch This Old House when I was a kid. It grew to evoke a sense of comfort and nostalgia whenever I would come across episodes later in life. Now I'm getting the same vibe from these vids. I always learn so much, too. Thanks for uploading, Scotty!

Edit: changed to "evoke". Thanks y'all!

I have a 2013 ford sxt. 5.0 v8 flex fuel. 4 wheel drive . Got it at 139, 000 and it’s been the most amazing first truck I’ve ever had. Definitely worth it. Only problem I’ve had was an old serpentine belt that needed replaced but that costed me like $30 to fix.

Got a 99 F-150 5.4L
offroad.
I've ran 9 trails in Colorado over 13, 000 feet. The truck is modified for off-road and has ran perfectly at these altitudes and never let me down out in the middle of nowhere.

I'm old enough to remember some people being unhappy with the change from the 5.0 to the 4.6, but as it turns out, they're both more reliable than the rest.

I’ve got a 2017 5.0L RWD 6-speed. Runs like a dream. Been getting 19.5-20.5 mpg on every tank since purchased.

That's exactly what I would want. It's hard to find just a plain old 2wd. Nothing against 4wd but we don't get that much snow here. A good 2wd posi-trak will get you around just fine.

I’ve owned two of those. Never had any issues really. My favorite is my 95 obs 5.8 4by4. 200, 000 miles and going strong. It’s what I think the definition of a real truck is
