5.0 V8 is the way to go according to the Ford techs who work on all of these offerings.

If you tell people these power ratings 20 years ago they would shit their pants

2.7 is a great engine. Runs great, I have 155k miles with probably 20% dirt road miles as a farmer with no issues.

Just bought my 2023 Lariat Sport FX4 with the 5.0 in Avalanche Gray last month. This makes my 4th F150 with the 5.0… I’m just not sold on those turbo V6s yet.

5.0 is definitely the way to go. I’ve had 2 of them with no issues and had the girlfriend get one recently as well.

I mean outside of power entirely, I wouldn’t be shocked if the 3.3 NA V6 was the least problematic. It’s probably easy to work on and there’s nothing all that complicated happening with it.

That powerboost is awesome! 24k miles on mine and runs smooth as new. I've gotten 28.1 mpg on a 10 mile city drive. Combined average is over 22. Tows my 30 foot enclosed trailer loaded no problem but only gets 8-10mpg towing.

2.7 ecoboost is literally a diesel engine that runs on gas. I think it’s the best power option. Otherwise the 5.0 is always safe.

Natural aspiration is always the winner in my book less to go wrong equals more dependability, more time on the job, less time in the shop, less cost, and over time more money staying in the bank. I can deal with less horsepower when dependability and longevity are on the line.

The NA V6 and V8 and the ones that will last longest.

I recently bought a 2023 XLT 5.0, i wanted the 3.5 hybrid. I researched and noticed how techs spoke of the longevity issues in the 3.5. So i went with the 5.0. The #1 dold yruck in america lol. Ill definitely be upgrading to the tremor in 4 years

I used to be a tech at a Ford dealer and I saw hundreds if not thousands of F150s. Most of them seemed to have either the 2.7 Ecoboost or the 3.5 Ecoboost. There were a few with the V8 and personally it’s the engine I’d choose. It’s got pretty shocking mpg but if you want good mpg, get a Prius. It’s an engine that will probably stand the test of time and be the most reliable option out of all the other available power trains.

5.0 V8 is the winner. No extra BS like turbos, charge pipes, or electrical systems to go out in addition to the engine.

Wow. It's one thing to get a single car to review. Ben gets a whole row. Nice.

Fords 2.7L V6 & 3.5L V6 GTDI NA engines are Gen2 designs. Well proven. Been in production now approx 14yrs (3.5L V6). Owned em all in F150s except newer 3.3L V6 DI fleet engine. All were excellent! Gen1 GTDI engines pre- '17 were great ..just more sensitive to consistent maintenance/ fuel quality to prevent carbon etc. These are high tech designs in every way. The twin scroll Borg Warner turbos used are best in the business. They last a long time. *Good basic maintenance all that's required for VERY long life. Facts* . -NY #F150Raptor

50k on my PB and it's been great the whole time. I get 26mpg on my 30 mile commute, with bottomless power on tap when I want it.

I’ve had 3 5.0s. A 2014, 2016, and now a 2021 5.0 I love the sound and the reliability of them. Also, I’m a v8 guy so I don’t think I’ll get a 3.5 or 2.7. Nothing against them just can’t be a good ol v8!!

I tried out a truck with each of them except the Raptor. I chose the 5.0 it's much smoother and it's more than enough for what I need out of a half ton. If I had to pick one of the others I'd get a 2.7 Eco
