For the first time in my life, i have realised the joy of being single. Came out of a fantastically amazing relationship, she broke up with me, and for about 8 months it was eating me up that i no longer had it. Then a few days ago, i found a new lease of life, that whatever-it-was that was eating me up was completely removed from me. And now i am happy just being single. I laugh now at a lot of those same things i went through. A lot of them i look back on in a humourous fashion not because i am being mean but simply i am no longer weighed down by it and i can only see humour in it now. It is a lovely feeling.

I have proved this so true. I married my very first boyfriend and we have been married for 53 years. We have had mountains and valleys. Many struggles and stresses, that comes with family and grandchildren, the joys and the sorrow, the financial pressures of making ends meet, cancer, major stomach surgery, concerns for the future of our beloved son, daughter and their spouses of 25 and 21 years and our precious six grandchildren in this chaotic and often frightening world.BUT we all love each other more as the years pass. This is God’s amazing grace in our lives. His love, mercy and faithfulness to us through our Lord Jesus Christ has been unfailing and we have the great joy, peace and hope in our hearts that we will dwell in The House Of The Lord forever after this life.

My wife and I recently celebrated 20 years together. As we are walking out the beach, far from home, I realized this very fact. Our kids are all grown up and raising families of their own. This woman knows me thru and thru. She knows all my faults but will always be here as people come in and out of our lives.
