Such a relative question, the real answer is *until* you both know for sure you are ready and capable of having a successful marriage. Some people take longer than others to figure this out, especially if they aren’t religious. For example, my happily married Christian friends dated for a few months to a year before getting married. Some have already started their families, I get to take care of their happy babies in our church nursery!
