I wouldn't have minded if that was Joker's actual end, seems fitting for his character to die alone and realizing he wasn't as important as he thought he was

Also the fact that the laws in Gotham seems to be fcked up not to implement a death penalty every single time Joker ends up in a prison cell or no man in Gotham thought of "Let's put The Joker on the electric chair"

Batman doesn't kill for two main reasons :

1. He knows how fucked up his mind is, and is afraid that if he gets too close to the dark and kills, he won't be able to go back and will keep killing.
2. He doesn't believe that he's legitimate to kill criminals, because justice needs to be done by the judiciary system, not by a vigilante with parental issues.

The real people to be blamed here are the judges for not having put Joker on the electric chair yet. It's not Batman's job to do theirs.

I honestly I more blame the justice system for not killing joker more than batman . Hell with the state of New York not having a death sentence I'm sure they could make an exception for a guy whose body count could likely be in the millions

Besides the joker surviving, this is exactly how the relationship between Batman and Joker should end and this is the perfect way for the Joker to die. Batman doesn’t give up his morals and Joker doesn’t get the satisfaction of being the one to make Batman break his code and gives him his worst fear, to be killed by someone else. If Batman were to ever have a final installment before the character is closed for good, that’s how you end it.

At this point I'd be okay with Joker being treated like Red Skull, a cockroach that keeps coming back with little to no explanation, and not for lack of trying on others trying to kill him.

I think that Batman constantly gets flak for not killing the joker, but you also have to consider that neither Arkham asylum, the Gotham police, or the courts ever do anything about joker either. Batman kinda just hands him over to the authorities and the authorities put their hands in the air and just put him in Arkham asylum. In other words Batman does everything he can to stop the joker and then the government fails to keep the joker contained and the cycle continues.

Joker War was one of the most frustrating stories to read due to Joker literally turning Gotham City into hell on earth! Shoot, Batman should recognize he's in the wrong when Harley and even Clown Hunter were making far more sense about their lethal actions to help keep the city safe.

The moment where this should've sunk in for Bruce would've been when Joker had an entire movie theater filled with zombie corpses of ALL of the people he's killed! Gatman was literally being attacked by every person HE could've saved by killing Joker A LONG TIME AGO! If that wasn't a wakeup call for Batman...

*I highly doubt every Joker victim could fit into one movie theater but still...

That would have been a perfect ending for the joker if they had let him die. Batman doing the one thing joker never thought he would, letting him die, and alfred's-who he jokerfied as a cruel joke-cackles filling the air. Joker screaming for the mindless alfred to shut up as he goes up in flames.
