Why do I suddenly have skin tags? Are they dangerous? - Dr. Rasya Dixit

Skin tags are very common condition which you would have seen in most of your uncle, aunty or a grand parents, it is usually extra growth of the skin which is seen in the neck area it can occur in face as well, underarms area and these are usually associates with aging, Increased weight, diabetes. So if you suddenly had extra skin tag one thing you have to worry about is whether you gained weight recently or it could also be happening in pregnancy it is quite common to suddenly have a more number of skin tags and in patients who are developing diabetes also this could be a problem. But you dont have any of this conditions and still you got lots of skin tags , you could be having some which looks very close to the skin tags which is called wart, skin tags very easily treated by removing them with electrocautery, However you should make sure your life style is good and you can speak to your dermatologist to understand between skin tags and wart , and warts need to be treated very quickly other wise they tends to spread a lot , skin tags are generally harmless and need some management in the life style front.

I was scared when one skin tag under my armpit swelled up and then dried and fell on it's own. I thought it was melanoma, but I found out these are harmless and are only inesthetic. If they fall off on their own, there is no need to worry as they are not carcinogenous.

I'm impressed with this informative video about skin tags. I think skin tags can occur anywhere on the body where there is friction by clothing. On the neck, for example. Skin tags are harmless; whew!

I suddenly got skin tags under both armpit, neck and upper left thigh. Went to the doctor and was diagnosed with diabetes. :( I go to gym 3 days a week and follow a healthy diet. even the doctor was confused as to how i got the diabetes... :(

Doctor I have skin tags few in underarm area and they remain for few years now. Yes I am overweight and i am trying to fight that but recently I came across some articles which says it happens when there happens a lots of parasites in ones body and it actually eats up your body from inside. I want to know if that's true? Is it due to HPV? Do i need to worry? Should I get them removed? I thought it's harmless. Please suggest

I got a skin tag last year, and just starting yesterday it turned a bit big and brown, then today night it suddenly shrink down in size and turned black 😳

They can also be caused by rubbing like I got a few around my neck because my necklace was rubbing on the skin constantly so its just not from weight gain or diabetes it can be caused by foreign objects too.
