What causes moles to suddenly appear? How to know if they are dangerous? - Dr. Rasya Dixit

Lot of people are afraid when moles appears on the skin because they are thinking that it could be cancerous . So what causes moles to appear? Moles are actually normal changes in the skin. They could be present at birth. They could appear any time till you are in your early 40’s. When you see sudden onset of moles you could be mistaking moles for other things such as freckles such as sun damage, such as BPN, which are extra skin growth or it could be a real mole also. In Indian skin we are protected by the presence of melanin. So common skin cancers which are mole associated skin cancers such as melanoma are relatively uncommon. However if you see a mole that has suddenly started to itch and rapidly grow in size, started to bleed, then it is time to bring it to the attention of a dermatologist who will be able to examine it under the dermatoscopy and maybe excise and send it for biopsy, for histopatholgical examination. This being said, melanoma based skin cancers are truly uncommon in Indian subcontinent. However it is best to be aware with changing lifestyle, to be aware of moles which are cropping out and get it examined by a dermatologist.

Ive noticed that when im in a toxic enironment and breathing bad air and eating poorly, I suddenly got a bunch of flat freckles in various places of my skin. At first I thought it was normal, but then it became more obvious. I didnt know what to do, but I got a new job that required me to move. The new place had fresh air, a gym, and I ate lots if healthy foods, and I began using a body lotion after showering in the morning. I noticed the spots shrink a lot and small ones seemed to disappear. A few had become raised, and I had them removed.
But ultimately, beware of toxic chemicals in air and water!

My grandma was obese but reached 93 in full senses (no cancer no dementia no nothing). I inherited red pigment (red hair, super pale skin burning easily) from my mum and in the last couple of years have started to get a lot of moles- especially in my back. I am not too worried. I keep checking them regularly but a lot of moles means longer telomeres = longer life! I am at 38 looking great thanks to it.💓🍃

Good day, can i ask is it bad to cut off mole using nails? a mole suddenly appeared on my left pinky finger month ago, i dont know if its a bruise (cause i sometimes sew) or an actual mole, it looks like a ball point dot , and i suddenly cut it off, it did remove but theres black thing remained, was that an actual mole or bruise? and was it bad or what?
