im 14 years old and it has now been 4 days since I have had sugar. my body and skin are still adapting and to be safe I decided to wait to take artificial sugars out of my life and diet, when I was at my happiest (wellbeing wise).

I feel like I'm going to f@#$&+* throw up every night, and feel nauseous with intense abdominal pains at times. I can't sleep, I'm having joint pains. Anxiety, panic attacks, can't think straight, depression, intense migraines, can't think straight, dehydrated, and irritable. I feel hungry as hell all of the time! It's so annoying because I'm not the type of person who snacks.

One thing I've had is there is something missing after eating. I am on my second week of withdrawals now. I gave up casually a week and a half ago. I thought I was going sugar free, until after a week and starting to feel better, my wife reminded me how much sugar was in some of the foods I was eating that didn't occur to me to look at. So, I cut those out and went into another withdrawal phase! Actually worse the second time. But both times I noticed this lack "boost" after eating. It stands to reason, if I am used to getting a high and it isn't there, then my body is going to throw a sulk! Then about an hour after eating I am wanting to eat again.

I liked how you re-framed it. that makes more sense. I have a couple of days to go before the week is up since cutting even more sugar out. I definitely noticed an increase in energy and better mood after the first week. It's just annoying that I have had to go through it again.

Quitting sugar makes me extremely anxious and paranoid. It's why I haven't been able to kick the habit just yet. It really is a powerful and highly addictive drug.

Everytime I eat I'll feel like I'm gonna get sick. Goes on for normally a week or two, sometimes coupled with a headache. Hopefully this will be the last time I go through this and actually get rid of all these extra pounds ✊

So, Charlotte... on average how long will these withdrawal symptoms last? Weeks? Months?

It’s my second day of sugar withdrawal. I didn’t take rice (carbs that includes sugar). Just veggies, fish and chicken. I had severe headache last night and vomited two times today. Just want to check if it is normal. I barely vomit in the past year.

I'm on this diet (no sugar, cut out the white bread, white rice, potatoes ) and it's very good, by that I mean you can eat and get full.
I go on the diet about once a year to bring my fat levels down so my weight doesn't get out of hand.
I use the original 'Sugarbusters!' book for a 14 day meal plan - I recommend it.
