If you see this years later I had lost all hope until I put it into xbox mode, plugged the base station via micro usb into my xbox series x and then when I docked the headset it instantly gave me the pop up saying headset assigned. Try this before giving up after your headset is updated. Works perfect!

What they don't tell you is that none of the EQ's work on either the A40's or A50's on the Series X as they need the Optical Cable in order to do this. They sounded superb on the Xbox X, but have now just become a very expensive set of Stereo Headphones.

Make sure to flick the switch back to Xbox when you've done the firmware update from PC 😉

For Xbox Series X and PS5, you will need to update the firmware on your base station by connecting the USB to your PC.

Are you going to fix your firmware update issue that everyone and their mother is complaining about. Spent a ton of money on these a50 and have had nothing but issues with the freakin things.

But the sound quality is much worse on usb than on optical cable across. I'm very disappointed.

I have an A50 wireless headset and it won't work anymore, impossible to update it, the windows 10 app doesn't work at all. Can't use my headset anymore and I'm not the only one like that, will you do something about it ? Just go read your reviews on the microsoft app... HELP

It works fine - just make sure you update firmware via PC/Mac first. Got mine today and they’re fire

tried this setup and my A50’s only let me hear party chat. don’t really understand what i could be doing wrong

Says i need a license for dolby atmos but A50s have it come free and i cant change that in dolby settings or anything

Mine have been getting some annoying little squicking sound every few minutes, goes away and comes back. This started with the series X, they work just fine on the xbox one... have you fixed that? I know I'm not the only one with this problem

Ok I figured it out- you have to plug the base station into your PC or MAC, download their firmware, then switch back to xbox mode and it works. This video glosses over the “update your firmware” part. Apparently you can’t do this through xbox

I did all that for my new Xbox and it did notting. It only works if you have them on digital optical cable. Please help if I’m missing something

I’ve been trying to get the update on my headset for damn near 3 hours now. Hooked it up to a Mac and windows 10 laptop and the update for the base station won’t pop up. I even did a reset on my headphones just in case and guess what still nothing. This is the worst piece of shit I could’ve bought. I’d rather wipe my ass with 300 than buy another one of these.
