I've done dry fasting several times. It has worked really well.

Dr Berg’s advices have improved my life a lot. I’ve lost weight and I feel great because of Dr Berg.

Thank you, Annette, for giving credit where it is due. It's because of Eric that I originally became interested in all of this – which also led me to great people like you. I have no doubt that if I hadn't started down this road with Eric, I likely wouldn't have been able to add these years and years to the lives of my wife and I.

I did both a 3 day dry and 3 day water fast. Lost more weight on the dry. My understanding, when you dry fast the body, in the absence of water will break down fat cells in an attempt to normalize fluid volume. The fat cells aren’t just oil. They also contain water. The fat comes off more quickly during the dry fast.

I watch both of these doctors what I really like about Dr. Boz is that she can disagree without insulting or personal attacks or name-calling, or trying to puff out her intelligence as superior. That makes me like and trust her even more not only does she have a sweet face she has a sweet spirit as well.

There is an excellent book on dry fasting called the Phoenix Protocol by August Dunning, a NASA scientist who was looking for a way to combat radiation damage in astronauts. There is a great deal of information in the book on the bio-chemistry that happens in the body while dry fasting compared to water fasting and what happens over different time periods, published in 2020.
My sister used a 9 day dry fast to eliminate 2 metastasizing tumors in her left breast. Day 5 she said her breast felt like it was on fire. The oncologist wanted to do a mastectomy and fill her full of toxic chemo. She was declared medical miracle after. My sister told the oncologist how she did it, do you suppose the oncologist is now using that protocol in their treatments. NOT Likely.
Also I did a 9 day fast myself and have not had any kidney problems since. One of the things I recall in the book is that the change in body chemistry from a dry fast induces the Kidney to dissolve kidney stones. Take that anecdote for whatever it is worth.

You both are valuable providers of information and I appreciate both views.

Love the critique here without trying to discredit all of his work. I appreciate your kind spirit Dr. Boz. You give us the science without being mean to someone with a differing opinion on the topic. We need more of this type of discourse in our society.

Fair enough! Everyone can be mistaken at times. I appreciate the way Eric gets to the point with excellent graphics. He’s well ahead than most in this regard.

So she is right. I am nurse practitioner and you do have to be careful with what you say because many people are desperate to improve their health and will follow advice to the letter on certain very convincing influencers with a high number of followers. If a person has renal disease for example, they need to stay hydrated or they will go into worsening renal disease as one example. I respect Dr Berg and agree with much of his videos. I respect Dr Boz for calling this out because it is important.

IMO before fast, hydrate, then 12- 24 dry fast, then water fast, then sardine fast, then light breakfast. I would not prolong the dry fast beyond 12-24 hours. Dr. Boz claims there are risks in a dry fast, I think there are no risks in a short dry fast.

The amount of times that I became dehydrated and ended up in the hospital, are more than I can count. I would NEVER go without drinking water.

I watched Dr Bergs video on this a couple weeks ago and if I recall he wasnt saying to do 36 hours dry fasting, but more like overnight, or 12 hours, which I do routinely, not by choice, but I might stop drinking water at or right after dinner and not have any during my whole intermittent fasting window. I could be wrong, but I think thats what I remember him talking about, not a prolonged dry fast. Love you as well Dr Boz, hoping you take new patients, Im right down the road

I watch both you and Eric. I would never consider not drinking water. Drinking water is encourage in every other advice I ever heard.

Thank you doctor for a balanced and levelheaded video. I do love Dr. Berg, but I agree with you on this one. 7 years ago, my sister was doing a one month dry fast and in the middle of it, she developed DVT which took her life. I didn't know about all these diet, but I automatically knew that the dehydration contributed to the blood clots. I do a lot of fasting but always remember to stay hydrated no matter what. It helps with my fitness performance too.

I did my first 52 hr dry fast at the start of this year. Otherwise it’s water fasts that I do. Surprisingly not thirsty or hungry. Actually had fewer bowl movements too, which was nice. The only thing I seem to not be able to reverse with carnivore diet vs 12 years of Crohn’s is frequent bowl movements. Otherwise 90% of my issues have reversed themselves. The dry fast was nice for that reason.

I believe there’s a time and place for dry fast as well as other fasting.

Thx 4 sharing💯. During Ramadan Muslims dry fast till sundown. I believe his dry fast recommendation is for 12hrs. Any fast should be done with mindfulness.✌
