🩺ABOUT DR. BREWER
Dr. Brewer started as an Emergency Doctor. After seeing too many preventable heart attacks, he went to Johns Hopkins to learn Preventive Medicine. While there, he went on the run the post-graduate training program (residency) in Preventive Medicine. From there, he made a career of practicing and managing preventive medicine and primary care clinics. His later role in this area was Chief Medical Officer for Premise, which has close to 1,000 primary care/prevention clinics. He was also the Chief Medical Officer for MDLIVE, the second largest telemedicine company. More recently, he founded PrevMed, a heart attack, and stroke prevention clinic.

At PrevMed, we focus on heart attack, stroke, and cognitive decline. We serve patients who have already experienced an event as well as those who have not developed a diagnosis or event. Dr. Brewer provides services via telemedicine. We find a lot of undiagnosed prediabetes or insulin resistance. Treating unrecognized risk factors like prediabetes allows reduction of risk and prevention of disease.

I'm losing belly fat on a high fat carnivore diet, with very little exercise due to an injured knee. Not to mention all of the massive healing I'm experiencing.

Not sure this is the full story. I ended up feeling a lot better eating plant based whole foods. Meat and dairy triggered my RA autoimmune disease. I feel best with plant based fats.

For the past 2 years my diet has been low carb - below 100 and low fat below 80 with protein below 60. I never count calories-+It’s a basic no processed or packaged food and no sugar - basically a Mediterranean/American diet. Coffee in morning, lunch 2 eggs 1/2 English muffin with lots of grass fed butter, ketchup with water to drink. Dinner is meat 6oz chicken fried in olive oil with arugula or steak with tiny mashed baked potato in shell with fried zucchini, hamburger (grass fed) with fries in olive oil or grilled pork chop with mashed sweet potato and pork gravy or baked ziti with a Cesar salad. One apple a day and one wine spritzer at night. You get the idea basic old fashioned diet of meat potato and vegetables……only healthy stuff using only olive oil. And NO SUGAR My trigs went from 394 to 140, blood pressure is now steady 130/75 or lower . I lost 30/lbs 153to 123. My HDL is 90 and my LDL is under 200 it was over 300. I follow Dr lustig like the gospel truth and I watch Dr brewer too. I eat with a 12 hour overnight fasting window. I lost that constant fatigue and depression and have replaced it with good energy for my 75 years It took me almost 2 years to turn my left bundle branch block heart condition and lipids around but I did and you can too

Intermittent fasting is so easy and keeps me at 21 BMI. Im more interested in how different foods can effect cardio vascular health and cancer risk.

The term for this is "high protein". You know... like Atkins.
It is well-known to be satiating for many people.
When combined with caloric restriction (~800 kcal/day), it is known as a "protein-sparing modified fast". Arguably a good way to lose weight over extended periods. Thought leader Stephen Phinney prefers PSMF over extended fasting.

my view is not all diet is perfect and you need to find the best one for your own body, the bottom line is to reduce inflammation by reducing oxidative stress and building up antioxidant reserve, that being said I am not really favor of carnivore diet, some people may argue you don't need that many antioxidant, but the key is you do not have enough reserve to fight it once you body is in stress consider the social environment we are living in nowadays. Although not a fan of plant based diet but have to admit that people on a plant based diet usually have much less inflammation by hs-crp level, seeing some youtube lab test results to have the number close to 0 as undetected so regardless which diet you choose it's still better to eat enough veggies even if you hate it

Reduce carbohydrates and my blood glucose is improved ( lower ) and lost weight. I eat more fat now than ever — but naturally occurring fat in beef, poultry and fish.
✌️ Stay safe, healthy and sane everyone 💕

The only diet I stick with is avoiding processed food + regular exercise. And doing my best reading label ingredients for the grocery stuff I’m buying. So far it’s doing good, no maintenance meds & 0 calcium score.

I think most people when they get to their 50's to 60's and above have some plaque, which means heart disease. If you know you have plaque, should you eat high cholesterol foods, because you know that your artery walls have been breached and cholesterol has gotten in. Does dietary cholesterol become dangerous at that point?

What blood sugar levels are safe? My blood sugar is about 96 in the morning. It gets up to 120 after some meals (but usually tops out at 110 or so).

If you eat keto, weight will take care of itself. You acted like that was some additional requirement.
