I’m not vegan, at least not at this moment but I am testing the plant based life style for a time (also considering the ethical implications etc), and have been looking for transitional types of foods that really work. Just gonna say this video gives me a lot of hope. Haven’t tried any of these yet but so much clearly communicated helpful information. Thanks a bunch for the work here

I’ve made the KFC recipe from you guys about 5 times now — it’s the BEST!

The last time I made it, I decided to coat the finished fried tofu in a simmered hot sauce & black pepper mixture. OMG. My boyfriend said best hot “boneless chicken” ever.

I always buy extra firm because I prefer the texture, but I learned here that it doesn't absorb marinades as easily. That makes sense! I will give firm a try next time.

I’ve made a chocolate cream pie and peanut butter pie with tofu for a potluck and didn’t tell anyone the ingredients. They were inhaled 😂 both are from a 1980s cookbook called Tofu Cookery, would love to see you make some of the sauces in the book.

I have NEVER touched a salad, and tofu scared me until I had it in miso soup and fell in love lol With food prices rising, I am trying to find some cheaper options, and also looking to learn to prepare new things...So glad to have so many people to learn from!

I just discovered your channel and right off the bat I love it SO MUCH!
the beginning is priceless! I have been vegan for about 8 years now and I STILL wonder about types of tofu. you have taken every shadow of confusion I've had for the longest time with a 5 minute intro that simplfied it so much... and the very first recipe is literally so simple yet sounds like a perfect blend of flavors!! I am definitely a new fan😍😍

For anyone that doesn't think in advance to do much prep ....i keep my tofu in the freezer and when I'm ready to cook, i defrost it in the microwave and then squeeze out the water by hand (as shown in the video).

Season however you like and then bake/fry.

I usually season with s&p, onion powder, garlic powder, acv, soy, paprika, green seasoning (mix of herbs), liquid smoke. Allow to marinade for a few minutes, coat with corn starch and fry.

It's really crispy with the corn starch.

And I'm eating this while watching the video.

Tofu all the way.


All these recipes look amazing. I've yet to try tofu in a dessert. Might try that one soon.
