Well, they weren’t kidding with the 115 mph capacity on that roof, huh?

Why do they even build houses i feel like Florida should only have mega condos built with concrete

And just like that, the North Carolina victims of Helene were forgotten. How many news crews are still covering the death and devestation there?

Last but not TO ALL WHO HAVE LOST THEIR HOMES, THE FAMILY MEMBERS, FRIENDS, AQUAINTANCES ETC. I HAVE NOT HAD A HOME SMASHED TO BITS, thankfully I left after a couple of years and relocated up north.

It would take me one storm to leave the state

I clicked on this thinking it would be helpful and informative; it has been neither. Useless.

I live in New Smyrna Beach which is 2 cities south of Daytona Beach and we got more rain than they initially thought and our neighborhood was all flooded just like after we got Hurricane Ian in 2022 and 2 months after Ian we got Nicole. The winds were the worst in the middle of the night for several hours and at one point my bedroom window had green flashes of light that filled up the entire window from transformers being blown. The wind sounded like a train and the windows rattled loudly to the point it sounded like the windows were not going to hold out. God willing this will be the last hurricane or tropical storm for a while. The last 3 years we have had several hurricanes and tropical storms and prior to that I think the last one was in 2017 which was Irma and 2004 we had 3 back to back which was Hurricanes Charley, Francis, and Jean. I was living in other states for 15 years as well so there were other hurricanes here when I wasn’t living here

I will never understand why people stay with soooo many warnings to leave??

Uninformed people don’t understand the “sustained winds” were 120mph, aka the minimum speeds were 120mph. That doesn’t account for the gusts or spikes in wind speed. I would’ve been shocked if a roof rated for 130mph stayed intact too, let alone a roof rated below the sustained wind speeds.
