Thank you Bill Nye for being clear and concise about hurricanes and climate change!

I’m sure all the people in the comments complaining about him not being a “real scientist” have no scientific training.

As an engineer, he knows how to read and understand the literature. He understands how research is conducted and the value of expertise.

He is a good science communicator, and that is valuable. As scientists, one of our biggest issues is communicating with people outside of the scientific community. We publish in journals and get along to the next part of the question, leaving the communication to other people. Many of these other people do a poor job. Bill does not. He is a valuable asset to the scientific community.

Thankful for Bill Nye the Science Guy. We've heard about climate change way back when with Al Gore. So many others since. Our huge money-hungry corporations are why we are in this predicament. As Bill said, get out and vote in November.

When I was in the National Space Centre UK. I was looking at Hurricane Katrina by satellite. I hoped the US was told what was coming. People in power should not cover up what's coming.

I want to share something that many people in Florida, especially in central Florida, can relate to. It used to get cold in October this time of year in central Florida. Although temperatures below 65 degrees may not seem cold to most people, as a 33-year-old native, I have noticed the change. I remember when temperatures got in the 50s on Halloween and we had to wear jackets. Back when I was in elementary school, we could see our breath at the bus stop in the early morning, and there was frost on the cars, grass, and windows. But things have been very different for quite some time now. It either rains on Thanksgiving and Christmas, or it's 100 degrees outside. I keep mentioning my age because it wasn't that long ago when the climate was different. If you don't believe me, you can look up the temperatures in central Florida before 2004 and compare them to now. It doesn't get cooler outside until January or February nowadays. The orange trees and other fruit trees that we once had are also gone. The soil is bad, and I believe it has a lot to do with the change in climate.

I have three older siblings, and they have said that it was colder when they were growing up. If it was in the 40s or a little lower for my age group, the difference from then and now is quite startling.

Instead of `voting against a hurricane`, why don`t we stop sending billions and billions of dollars (let alone weapons) to Ukraine and Israel.. and instead take care of all the American citizens who will be devastated by this storm.. as well as all the other problems Americans face at home.

If only everyone lived in a cave and ate bugs there would never be any weather.

More energy being put into the “system”, the more potential for higher severity as that energy looks to go to a lower state.
