I'm an emergency nurse practitioner & the clips I've seen of this show are so real that it makes me not want to watch it. It feels way too much like going to work on my off day.

I owe you ER doctors and nurses and staff my life. I was dead on the street after a motorcycle accident and I was brought back to life and saved. Now I have a college degree and a career. Next month will be 13 years post accident.

Yah, as an ED doctor this show is pretty much so, I don't really care to watch it. It's like coming home from work and watching....work! Another show that came close to accuracy was ER. I was an ED resident in Chicago and the studio asked gave a bunch of us ED residents a private screening of the first episode wanting our input. We saw them shocking 'flatline' on the EKG and a few other details and explained 'that's now how it's really done': to their credit, they changed these issues when the 1st episode premiered. Also, the look of terror and confusion that Noah Wyle as a young med student in ER was 'spot on'; I really gave kudos to him for that! (Kudos to him for this series; he plays the aged verteran ED pretty well). ER was pretty accurate during it's first year but decreased accuracy in exchange for 'Hollywood drama' during the 2nd and 3rd year (and beyond) making it pretty unwatchable. Hope 'The Pitt' can stay true to itself for far, so good).

I've only just heard of this show, and never seen it. In these clips you showed, I like how it isn't overly dramatic, and everyone looks like a regular human being, not a movie/TV star.

When I took AP biology, I saw a future doctor faint. We went on a field trip after school to a pathology lab. The pathologist actually gave each of us different organs or parts of organs and had us guess what we were looking at. Well, one student got a testicle with cancer. He realized what he had and down. He went hitting his head on the ground. At the time it wasn't amusing. Ironically, he is the only student among the 15 of us who is both a doctor and regularly deals with trauma injuries. Two others became doctors, one a dermatologist and the other a plastic surgeon.

My mom was a geriatric RN and is excellent at the tough end of life conversations. She said the scene where he explains to the parents that the little girl isn’t going to recover was excellent. You should highlight that since Hollywood gets end of life scenarios so wrong so often.

it brings a smile to my face how accurate The Pitt is, even Dr Wagner approves of it.

Incredible that after 20+ years now? Noah Wylie is back on an ER (no pun intended) drama, and as someone else has pointed out - has basically "seasoned" himself into the role as a 30 or so year ER Doctor veteran. He's such a good actor, and this first episode with the Covid PTSD sequence, was really hard to watch actually. I'm just glad he's back on TV more than anything.

Please do more episodes!! As an ICU nurse already my new favorite show solely because of how medically accurate it is!

That’s what I love is in one of the later episodes. There is a kid that comes in after our drowning and the mother’s demanding that the child be shocked however, the doctors informed her that it is not a shockable rhythm and that she is in Asystole. Love when the myth that you can just shock a heart and it comes back every time get shown to be wrong on TV.

What is super cool is how Noah Wylie seemingly matured into the role, playing the ER doctor with years of experience and the wisdom accumulated.

i absolutely love this show. i love how they highlight everything like over-zealousness to under-preparedness that both med students and medical professionals occasionally exhibit

I love this show and how it’s broken down per episode. Instead of days, it simply covers 1 ER shift and as someone who has friends in the medical field, I hear of all the crazy stuff they deal with on the regular. I like how they have the drama element but the medicine is at the forefront and from what they have said as well, it s one of the most accurate, drama medical shows they’ve seen in a while.

Fantastic show in every aspect! When they reset the degloved foot/ankle I was disturbed for about a week. The sound, combined with the POV of the tendons and muscles holding him together like rubber bands made me shiver.

The deglove was gnarly but the part that made me jump out of my seat was the guy with the “floating face”

This is an amazing and riveting show. I find a couple of things interesting. First, each episode seems to be equivalent and hour in the shift. Secondly, Noah Wyle is arguably one of the most experienced "I play a Doctor on TV" actors working today. Obviously well researched and prepared for his work. The PTSD part of his character is just so well written and acted.
