How to set up Atomos Ninja V

In this video, I will show you how to set up your Atomos Ninja V for your camera using the Canon EOS R6. The Ninja V is great for adding a huge amount of functionality to your camera. It lets you record a camera's full-frame sensor output in 4K/UHD at up to 60 fps, or in full HD at up to 120 fps.

Even if I use the Canon R6 and the Ninja V in this guide, it will work more or less similar for Canon R5, R3, R-series and the Ninja V+

One small note!

If you have the camera record enabled in the HDMI menu it will effect the overheating issue on the R6. After I disabled that and started just clicking recording on the Atomos I haven’t had ANY over heating.

If I’m using the Atomos SD do I still need SD Cards in the camera? Is that storage the primary storage once it’s attached to the Atomos?

One thing to know is that is not possible to record on the Ninja V in FHD 24 fps or 30 fps. I did ruin one shoot that I set it up in the camera (Canon R6) at FHD 24fps, butautomatically the Ninja V recorded it at 60 fps.

What battery are you using? I cannot get any power to my Ninja. The battery pack I’m using isn’t powering it up for some reason.

There are no videos for the Ninja ULTRA, tried following this video since eI have the R6mkII and NINJA. Setup works beautifully, until I switch off the camera and the Ninja. Wench I switch it off and turn it on again, the NINJA goes blank, no recording nothing on the screen. Absolutely frustrating. Any ideas ? is this normal, Is there anyone else experiencing this ?

I have the eos 90d and it is difficult for me to match its connection with the atoms and I have 2 cables but they are not the cables it is the connection that does not work I don't know if it is the legalization problem

Hi, I have Canon R6 mkii and I plan on buying the latest Atmos ninja to record 4K video while taking photos simultaneously, is this something you have done before/made a video about? I am told this is possible, but I can't find any examples of it working/in action. I don't want to invest if it won't work in practice, both photos and videos would be of equal benefit to me for my YouTube channel.

I just purchased a ninja and when I shot the first day and recorded on it I see all the camera settings on the screen the red box around it and everything making the footage unusable. Can anyone tell me how to make this go away or point me to another video that does please!

I think you're missing a few features on the Ninja such as the "Legalize" toggle for c-log 3, you might need to update your firmware and you can get a little more out of it
