How to Setup a Atomos Ninja V (Unboxing and Complete Setup)

Atomos Ninja 5 is a monitor/recorder combo and a perfect addition to any camera setup. The Ninja V comes with HDMI input/output with additional accessories to add SDI to the unit as well.

You can buy an SSD hard drive and record footage onto the drive in a variety of formats.

You can also use it as a monitor and it was powerful options such as luts, waveform, and false color built-in. You can always add other Luts as well.

Nobody tells you that you cant just simply put an ssd card on the ninja V and start recording. You have to format the ssd drive while its connected to Ninja V. Or else your record button will be ghost. Just scroll left on the menu and you will see the option to format. I thought my ssd drive was no good. But after formatting time and how much space appeared.

Hey great video… But I have a question. I use the exact same set up, FS5ii with the ninja five. When you press the record menu on the ninja I noticed that there is no remote trigger (record) option that I have seen on other ninja setup tutorials- do you know how to show that option? From what I can tell it should show up in the right top corner when you press the first menu on the ninja. ( if possible I would like to only press one record button versus having to press the record on the ninja and the FS5ii)

Just got one for myself today. I connected HDMI with Sony FX3. It shows no input. I tried with different HDMI cables that work with others and still no input. Did I do something wrong?

Are you able to record from the camera...but save on the monitor SSD? thankfully for a practice video using my Ninja V, I hit record and I couldn't use the footage from the Ninja because the HUD was on my footage.

Can you explain how to change camera settings in camera while recording on the ninja v? From my experience all the ninja does is record the screen on the camera so any changes or display hubs appear on the ninja recording, how do I record and make changes mid recording without the change being recorded in the feed the ninja is recording

Any idea why as soon as i turn on my ninja 5 contacted to Sony A 7 s iii ...so ISO automatically changes from 80 to 640.
Checked settings on camera cab t find a solution
