I don't want to add in groups by accounts you follow ...how to avoid by adding in groups by our followers or accounts you follow ?

For those of you not seeing the option, you can search the word groups in the search box under privacy and settings, and then you can choose to only be added by people you follow.

There's no toggle or options under who can add you to group chats. Is there an updated way to restrict group chats from random people?

Thanks for making this video. I was getting so tired of getting added to these groups I wanted to be no part of (usually “demonetizing activity” related spam 😂). Actually though they’ve changed up the settings interface just slightly since you’ve made this video- but using what you’ve presented here I was able to go in, sort it out and find the settings I needed to do this. When I click on "who can add you to groups" I get send to my notifications settings !? Getting so many "requests" every day how do I turn this off.

I just came here to disable my setting cause literally I woke up and saw a gc adding me when I asked why tf they added me they started saying bad words and like hating me on my face omg now I've realised this world isn't going well like we all know but I could have done something better than just leaving the gc cause ik I'm not that strong to act like a bad b and say bad things I can't! And now I'm just frustrated with the world

I've done this a few days ago and I'm still getting the most horrific, dirty spam. Got 21 groups added since yesterday. It's fricken nuts. I hope Insta gets sued for this.

I did this and I still get added to groups by people I don't follow. Why can't there be a setting that says I don't want to be added to groups at all, regardless of who it is?

No, it doesn't help. I don't need people I randomly follow due to, let's say, beautiful landscapes, adding me to the group of Rambo and His Mother just because I like his LANDSCAPES and nothing else.
