In this video I will begin solving the hydrogen atom. I will use separation of variables to separate the schrödinger equation in spherical coordinates to a radial and an angular equation.

In the next video we will solve the equation for phi.

Thank you so much. The lectures notes only gave us the results in the l form so this really clears things up.
