Solving the Hydrogen Atom - Part 1: Separating into Radial and Angular equations

In this video I will begin solving the hydrogen atom. I will use separation of variables to separate the schrödinger equation in spherical coordinates to a radial and an angular equation.

In the next video we will solve the equation for phi.
