When you’re physically hungry, you will eat ANYTHING. When you’re emotionally hungry, you want something specific usually filled with fat, sugar, or salt.

When I'm hungry enough to eat veggies or steamed veggies then I'm physically hungry. I learned this from vegan chef AJ.

Thank you. I know I emotionally eat too. It is very hard to overcome. I have even been eating junk while saying to myself "STOP" but still I would continue to stuff my face. It made me so angry with myself. Like why can't I stop this!

When I’m feeling overwhelmed and not knowing what to do next with my 3 year old, my go to is to get in the car and go through Starbucks or if it’s lunch time go through a drive thru and eat in the car. He’s happy getting a treat and confined to the car seat which means I can breathe and eat in peace. I didn’t even realize until now that this is emotional eating! Thank you for making this video! Definitely need to change this habit of mine!

I eat unnecessarily when I don’t feel like doing what I just need to do. Then I can’t run away from the task. :)

Good topic indeed! When I know I shouldn’t be eating because I’m not hungry I actually feel angry and sad about it. Like my best friend had to leave the sleepover early. But if I can get past it I always feel better that I didn’t stuff myself.

Every time I watch all of your videos I say “I’m so happy someone finally made a page to show simple meals and meal ideas” I hope you don’t ever stop doing it! Your videos been helping me stay on track of not eating dairy so far I’m going on 10 months of no meat. I think you will be the reason I finally be able to switch over for good! 🙏🏿❤️

I like how you said “I’m worth it”. This is very powerful. I find that when I’m really stressed I crave the worst foods. I have a hard time redirecting my emotional hunger to relieve the stress. Thank you for ok the good this.

I love how real you are with this. At times I'll feel weak when things happen, I may not ever steer off of my veganism, but there are times when I want a sandwich with the vegan cheeses and stuff. So it's really nice for you share your story and helpful tips and insights

Emotional hunger for me means reaching for an unhealthy food item when I'm stressed. Most often it's chocolate that I turn to.

I think I know the difference between real hunger and emotional hunger because I've experienced both pretty saliently throughout my life. But I also think there is a blurred line there, where the "boundary" would be, and that sometimes, we can't tell the difference.
