Yes, please continue to use your awesome platform to spread the word. I used to be better at zero waste all the local shops disappeared. I still grow my own produce on my allotment and I compost most of our food waste. Im very proud to have had my daughter in cloth nappies too.

I can't stand wasting food! However, unfortunately I am guilty of it sometime.
I want to do better.

One of the major problems is that big food manufacturers don't do proper crop rotation. Farmers used to keep cattle on one field, corn on another, carrots on another etc. Then they would take the waste animal products and use it ad fertiliser, they would take fish bones and egg shells to neutralise the ph and other things I'm not aware of. Small farms still do this and there soil is fine.

But now big farms use so many chemicals in place of traditional fertilisers, they use calcium carbonate extracts rather than fish bones and the ground isn't getting replenished properly.

its not an individual problem but a systemic one. convincing ordinary people to reduce food waste wont put a dent into the corporations commiting massive food waste. it doesnt hurt to live a low waste life, but its misleading to say that will be effective

love your message and wasting less is always a good thing to do. but i think there's a misconception on how this will make a difference for our planet. it won't. the industrial lines of production waste astronomically more compared to all the consumers combined

I won’t use spare parts of my vegetables unless they’re organics (bio il french). Chemicals stack up on their « skin », but in your garden it seems so cool to be able to use everything

Instead of wasting, companies can turn the bad or extra produce into compost at the very least. It's not hard. a properly made compost actually smells rather nice too as far as decaying stuff goes. Back in middle school my science teacher made a one and showed the class. That's what got me interested in it.

One of the few good things I learned in the army is to eat everything in our plate, to avoid waste.

Monocropping is the issue.sucking everything out without adding anything back. Non organic fertilizers, pesticides, ....

The food wasted by consumers is far far far smaller than what is wasted from farm to retailer.

I am not perfect, but I started to use my vegitable cut waste for stock, I think we can learn a lot from you and preffesional cheffs.

Over-buying was definitely my problem. I tend to not eat much, and all the packaging was designed for families or at least couples. Or maybe really hungry people?

Anyway, switched over to other stuff until I had no more food waste. Find the balance. 😊
