Thank you for making this video. This is exactly what happened to me. I was able to keep daily diary for years, then reality hit hard. My brain was dull when I come back from work. I couldn't even keep a small A6 journal. Recently I came across pocket notes topic but sometimes nothing comes to mind for me to write. Your video makes me realize it's okay to not have anything to write for a while. When the world seems all productive and creative, you’re down to earth to spoken about the true feeling of majority.

Never taken upon yourself to fill the empty pages. That said, come up with three writing ideas that you want to explore for that notebook. Write down the time/date of your entries. When you come back to writing, first thing pick up from those 3 ideas, and what you found out about them, and start writing. Most important, do not use the writing as a life disruption, you will only view it too superfluous, and never come back to it.

Hey just thought I’d make a suggestion for longevity of your notebooks since you use the Walmart ones. Duct tape may be a little sturdier than the packaging tape. If you like having color, there are colored and patterned duct tape available from the duck brand at Walmart as well as craft stores, although the solid tape is the strongest so I’d stick to solid colors. If you do use packaging tape, try the gorilla brand, it’s more expensive than the scotch brand but it’ll hold better. Hope this helps :)

Thanks for posting this video! This video addresses a lot of the problems I have with my notebook as well.
The idea well analogy is way too good! Whenever I am out of ideas, I learn! I read and consume content. I let new ideas come in and connect on their own. Would love to hear your thoughts!

Also, I have been trying out one page ideas. It is a system where I give each idea only 1 page. I try to write it all down in one page or else I could continue later on. How do you keep your ideas?

I have this exact kind of pocket notebook! I laminated it and added a qr code for socials and a label to it. I Mostly use it for events and todo lists

Sometimes taking a break is good. When I was writing a big paper in college, it was hard sometimes to just sit and work. And then I’d feel guilty because I know I needed to work on it, but nothing was coming to my brain. Then I’d be driving in the car on the way back to school after a weekend away, and I’d think of exactly what I needed. Breaks are definitely much needed.
