Demand for Rails is surprisingly blowing up in 2021 - I'm getting multiple job offers paying $140K to $150 on a pretty regular basis.

This argument is old. People have been saying Rails is dead since 2010.

I learned Ruby on Rails in 2012. The last 2 years I've been programming mainly in Javascript. My latest project is again a Ruby project. So I refreshed my Ruby knowledge. The thing I like about Rails, is that it's an integrated framework. Everything you need is there and is working well together.

Excellent information about Rails. Thanks!

I’ve had experience learning React and JavaScript, but with how seemingly saturated that market is because of the “learn to code” MERN stack boom, I’ve switched to Rails. So far I love it, and I hope I’ll have opportunities to start a career with it!

Bored with PHP, I wanted to learn some other back-end language, so I asked my boss which language he recommended: Ruby or Python. He pointed out Python to me, I quite liked it and now he is my favorite for complex projects and web applications, along with PHP for simpler projects for being quick to program.

Your point on using Python for data analysis and ruby-on-rails for web applications, I find it interesting. I think it's time to learn ruby-on-rails and then decide what is best for my next project.

RoR is mature. Testing Automation is easier especially for TDD

RoR is good but when I entered internship company required react skills more than rails. Without webpack gulp yarn slim rails is useless in my case!

RoR is alive and will be alive for atleast next 20 years .
Well I transformed my route from ROR to django accidentally . I learnt python for my data science courses. So one Evening I tried django and loved it. Django goes well implementing AI models and it's has lot of things similar like rails . Django fundamentals are inspired by rails. And yes django is fast and I mean faster than rails .
Rails had inspired many frameworks. Even phonix framework of Erlang is quite similar to rails ( Haven't used, my fellow backed engineers using it in office )
Here In india, still lots of startups are using rails but numbers have decreased.

I love ruby on rails. Many other monolith and mature framework like Django or phoenix is inspired by ror.

It is not about the technology you use being cool, it is about allowing you to solve a problem.

The issue with Ruby is that Python exists. Python is just as easy as Ruby and has more going for it, such as Django (which is about as good as RoR), AI, automation, scripting, making gui apps, etc. Ruby comes across as basically a less-popular version of Python, so why bother learning it when there's a more popular language that is just as easy?
